"Villa Giulia, a pleasant surprise in Ciampino!!"
A pleasant surprise in Ciampino, on the outskirts of Rome but with a quick train (15 minutes, 1 euro 30 cent ticket) connection to the center. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station, on a residential street; meaning quiet with gardens and trees. A small courtyard with chairs and tables to relax in good weather. A convenient parking garage free of charge under the hotel. The rooms aren't big but roomy enough and very clean. The breakfast was more than enough and the cappuccino was made individually from a regualr coffee bar type machine not the freeze dried type. The staff were excellent in welcoming me and providing all types of info (transport, food etc.# Unfortunately I had forgot my mobile phone in the breakfast room and didn't realise it for 2 hours after my checking out. No problem! The front desk manager handed it to me as soon as they saw me returning. The food and lodging prices are much lower in Ciampino compared to Rome. #There's no tourist added tax to your bill here like the one they add in Rome (as much as 4 euro per day)The peaceful atmosphere, very friendly service and easy connection to Rome's center will influence my decision to definitely stay here again!!!

"Amazing value"
My mother (who is 60) and I (24) wanted a cheap getaway to Rome and I doubt there could have been a better way to do it. The room itself was the cheapest possible in the hotel and although it was dark and on the ground floor it was cleaned every day with fresh towels and soaps etc. All of staff were friendly and helpful always and spoke English. The restaurant menu was reasonably priced with a great selection and good combo deals. The hotel was an easy commute to the train station, only a 15 minute walk, and trains run regularly to and from the Rome Termini (main station) which makes it a much better option than staying inside the city, that could obviously cost more than twice what we paid. The airport is also only a short distance away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a low costing, great value holiday. Should I return to Rome I would definitely use it myself.

"Well connected, great room and friendly staff"
You can't change your location, but you can accommodate for it and Hotel Palacavicchi certainly accommodates. My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend in Rome, hosted by the friendly and helpful staff at Hotel Palacavicchi. Although I say it is not a great location, if you are flying in to Ciampino airport it is ideal and very accessible. For us, flying in to Leonardo da Vinci, it was a bit out of the way, but a 20 minute taxi (€50) and you have avoided the city centre. The hotel then goes a long way to ensure that the city is very accessible. We found the shuttle service to the train station very useful and cheap and if you are getting back after the last train (which is around 22:45) the underground runs late and they were happy to pick us up from Anagnina station (around 02:30). This depicts the friendly staff's willingness to help very well. Everything from printing to preparing a breakfast box if you are leaving early, they are great hosts. The breakfast itself is very good too offering a large continental selection (including delicious chocolate croissants). Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, the interior is lovely and the rooms were very clean. My only negative was that the double bed was made up of two singles pushed together, which results in someone generally getting lost in the divide during the night, but this aside a very nice room and a great place to stay.

Staff- just nice. Room so-so. I'd only stay for a night again if I could find another hotel in that price range.

"A Lovely Place to Stay"
From the outside this hotel is not at all impressive - it is on the busy main road into Rome from Ciampino Airport. However, once you go through the gates into the well maintained and tidy car park it is a totally different experience. The hotel is surprisingly quiet inside and the rooms are well thought out and lovely and cool from efficient air-conditioning which was a god-send when we went as it was soooooo hot!! The hotel staff we encountered were lovely and polite and extremely helpful - always. The restaurant attached to the hotel served delicious food and the restaurant staff were also lovely and helpful. Overall a lovely comfortable stay and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Our Impressions"
We stayed on a three-night deal which was inexpensive and very good value. Our room was not in the main hotel but within the grounds similar to a motel arrangement. Breakfast was provided in the main hotel building. The grounds were planted with many types of palm tree and the general ambience reminded us of Florida. Free mini bus transport was available to and from the local metro station to pick up a regular train service to the centre of Rome. Altogether an enjoyable experience which we hope to repeat soon.
