Great location

I'd stay here again at the Expedia rate given the great location and proximity to everything downtown. The rooms are good, need some updating but everyone has mentioned this in reviews already.

The hotel is fine, the staff and management are no

Pros: It had a nice bar/restaurant
Cons: No excuse for not having rooms ready - must fix this.
Got into town at 2pm - an hour early for 3pm check in. We had to be a Navy Pier at 4:30 for a cheerleading competition for my daughter. No problem, we'll walk around, get some food, etc. We come back after 3, room is still not ready, we sit around...4pm ROOM IS STILL NOT READY and NO other rooms to give us. The excuse was that they were full the night before...Hello - this is Michigan Avenue in Chicago...aren't you full all the time? At any rate my daughter had to change in the lobby bathroom and then we had to do her hair at the event. They called at 5 and said the room was ready..... Well, we got back at 11pm, finally checked in and left the next morning. Of course not before we had to walk half a block and pay $67 for our car from Valet parking. I've stayed at a lot of nice hotels and had good luck with Westin's but you honestly could not pay me to stay here again. It was a joke.

Perfection!

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, location, location!! No irate housekeepers banging on your door to see if you are up yet, you can sleep in as needed.
Cons: Crown moulding in Rm #945 could use touch up.
Location: Located on Michigan Ave's Miracle Mile; next door to the Hancock Bldg; one block from Water Tower Pl. Easy walk to shopping, dining and "el" access.
Perfect 10 for the whole experience, from the doorman upon arrival, to the valet upon departure. The employees here were friendly, helpful and appear to actually enjoy working here. We were treated as full Preferred Starwood members (which we are) even though we booked through Expedia. Nothing negative to report, first class treatment the whole stretch. Recommend using valet parking with in-out privileges so you don't have to tussle with luggage. While energy-conscious here, you do not feel it, as rooms have nice bright lighting and plenty of HOT water for your shower. Recycle bin is available to use if you'd like. The booking info said "fridge upon request" and we did receive one.

Disappointing First Time Stay

Posted 7-Apr-2014
Pros: Proximity to stores and restaurants.
The room was small compared to most hotels we have stayed in. The hotel seemed dated. We had a very poor night's sleep due to the noise on the floor from other guests. Hotel security did not come up to calm the guests down until 3 am.

Nice location

Posted 4-Apr-2014
Stayed here for 2 nights. Location is excellent. Lobby area is nice too. The rooms are outdated, my room's door was hard to open (assuming is an old, old door). Room itself was not impressive at all, heavenly bed is ok, I have never liked the pillows at the weatin but overall could get a decent night of sleep. The staff was ok but I've had better experiences at other Westins. Parking is very expensive but I guess it's related to the location. Overall and ok place to stay if you are looking to be on Michigan avenue.
