A pleasant experience

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: Go green choice, proximity to almost all major activities in the city
Cons: Paint and walls need reconditioning and missed a microwave in the room.
Location: navy pier (tons of amusement for all ages) walk on lake shore parks
It was a wonderful experience, being able to easily access most activities around the downtown area. Rooms were great and service was awesome. As expected parking was pricy if you take your car. Also it has a go green choice which satisfied me. All in all, I will recommend it to others and also stay there again if needed.

Overall great hotel

Great hotel, great location! Only problem I had was I needed a receipt ant checkout but was told that they couldn't print me one because I booked through a 3rd party. (Expedia). Not that big of a deal, just inconvenient.

Expected More

Posted 7-Mar-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Explain specifically what "Deluxe" upgrade entails. Our room may have been a little larger (I don't know), but we REALLY expected a view of SOMETHING.
Location: Right in the mix of everything downtown - mostly shopping and touristy stuff - fabulous if that's what you're looking for.
Will never pay for "Deluxe" upgrade again... view of brick wall, on a floor under construction (but mostly done). Cobweb in room. But Westin is a good choice overall, and I've had better experiences at this location. Just expected more.

Perfect location!!!!! Just a simple walk to Bloomingdales and Water Tower. The location/staff provided us with a feeling of safety and security while my daughter and I travelled.

Great place to stay. Room was clean. King bed was awesome like being at home. Staff were friendly Walking distance to anything we wanted to go. We read some negative reviews. They must have been talking about a different place.

Weekend stay in Chicago

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Great location, very convenient to walk around town. I like that it's right across the John Hancock center and close to my favorite restaurant (Cheesexake Factory). Very convenient location as I didn't have any car and I can easily walk around the area to check out some of the tourist spot (Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Miracle Mile) and I walked almost 9 miles that day. Room is large for a king size bed, mine was facing the Delaware side of the street, with a view of John Hancock center. My only complain would be my first room assignment was right behind the elevator so I asked for a switch since I'm a light sleeper. They reassigned me to another room on the other end of the hallway that was diagonal to another set of elevators. As expected, the sound of elevators and loud people did interrupt my night while I was in the room. I wonder if because I booked my room from expedia (got a really good deal, slightly over hundred dollars a night) so the room "choices" for me was limited. The hotel has close to 20 floors and I'm stuck with room close to elevators? Come on now.

Dear Linda, I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us! I am glad you had an enjoyable weekend in Chicago! We agree that our location is ideal for getting to many Chicago attractions, restaurants and shopping! I'm sorry to hear about the noise issues you encountered and I apologize that we did not have any rooms available farther away from the elevators. I hope you will stay with us again! Close to shopping

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Pros: location
Cons: Check in process and TV's (our TV was all static)
Location: Water Tower was a block over.
The check in process was disappointing. We had to wait 20 minutes in line while all SPG members got waited on first. The room wasn't ready but the lady at check in took my I.D. and credit card and had everything in the system saying come back in an hour and you'll just get your room card. We came back 3 hours later and had to wait yet another 20 minutes and they insisted on swiping my cards again (even though I showed them on my banking app that they already had a hold on my card) thus adding yet another hold on my credit card and told me to take it up with my bank. Unacceptable.
