“A wonderful place to relax and as a base for Illinois”

My wife and I went to stay at the Herrington Inn as part of our honeymoon - we stayed for six nights. After a long drive to get there, we arrived and found friendly, down-to-earth service and a spacious, well-equipped and well-kept room. It was quiet, with a view over the river, and you could take a walk in the countryside, but you also had a town centre just around the corner with a range of good restaurants (we had some great dinners out). The service is the best thing I remember - the Herrington's got the warmth of a small hotel but the facilities of a much larger one. The finishing touches - right down to the milk and cookies - are superb. We had a perfect time the six nights we were there and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody else.

“Wonderful Experience”

The hotel was very accomodating in every way. The turn down service and the cookies and milk were a hit. And, we would highly recommend the restaurant. The lamb chops were exquisit! All in all, we had a wonderful experience. It was our 41st anniversary and we will go there again.

“Nice place to stay in Geneva”

Very pretty hotel in lovely Geneva. Sheets and towels a bit thread worn, our room was ready for a face lift but still charming. Nice view of the river and very easy walk to town, shops and restaurants. Front desk seemed surprised when I requested help with my luggage. Would stay here again despite stated issues.

“Whats not to like?”

Hotel is lovely, as was the room. The site of the hotel is immediately on the bank of the Fox River and with semi=private outdoor decks makes for wonderful relaxing views. While staff is not 5-star in service skills their attitude is definitely at the highest level. Because a large part of the Hotel business consists of Weddings & receptions the lobby can get a bit crowded at times; as can the near parking spaces. There is ample off-street parking, even if you have to locate your car in the Police dept. spaces across the street. The complimentary 'European breakfast' is situated in the lobby and with armchairs, low tables and a well-thought-out selection of muffins, pastries, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cold cuts, fruits, juices, coffee and tea the experience is very relaxed and cozy. Evening turndown service includes a pint of chilled milk and a delicious cookie.

“A great spa experience right in the Chicago burbs.”

This is one of the best and total spa experience I have ever had in all my travels. The best thing is it is located right here in Chicago, so close and quick to drive to for a 2 or 3 day weekend. You would normally have to drive or fly quite a distance to find this luxury that's right here in our backyard.
