“Great hotel at a great location”
Excellent stay
“Will be back for sure!”
This is the second year my friend and I stayed at the Seneca Hotel and after a wonderful experience last year, we didn't think it could get any better. The staff (many of whom we recognized from last year) were all friendly, helpful and courteous. The room we had was immaculate and the bathroom newly remodeled and perfect for 2 women doing hair and makeup at the same time! The location was perfect for us - right behind the Water Tower Shopping Mall and only 1 block from Michigan Avenue, where you can easily take a bus down to the other end of town. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a comfortable and convenient location to many great stores, restaurants and attractions.
“Front Desk and Management Very Rude”
We had a couple complications with our booking and the hotel hung up on me twice. The problem was easily fixed, and it could have been fixed in a much more timely matter if they would have listened. Not satisfied at all.
“Old Hotel”
This hotel is old. The rooms haven't been updated for several years. It is clean. The staff was friendly. The lobby is very nice. I would recommend only because of the location.
“chicago hotel”
was very good for the price
“Ok - will go back if nothing cheaper is available”
Was little expensive. Front desk little rude, but couple were nice. Was told breakfast was part of my reservation but when I went there was told it wasn't. But another front desk lady gave me a complimentary coupon for some reason! So, it was Ok. Location wise is great. Not the best hotel I have stayed in for more than 125 a night. Will stay again if the Hilton or Renaissance don't give comparable rates.

“Great Location”
Despite being a Chicago suburbanite, with a dinner in the city we decided to make a weekend of it. The Seneca was a perfect location for our dinner at the 95th. Despite the initial room offered which had only one bed the front desk was more than willing to change our room. The almost full size refrigerator allowed us to maintain our leftovers as well as drinks and the free breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The only thing we had issue with was the temp in the room. It happened to be a unseasonably warm weekend and we couldn't cool the room down. Luckily we were able to open the windows which helped. We would definately consider returning for our next city weekend
“Excellent Location, Hospitable Staff”
My wife and I stayed for ten nights and everything was perfect. The hospitality could'nt be better, I have been in 5 stars hotels and this was much better. We got an upgrade when we got to the hotel to a suite which had a living room and a kitchen, that gave us more time in the morning to have breakfast without the restaurant rush. They always had the right answer to all our questions and had great recomendations on what to do and how to do it. The front desk staff were very attentive and always satisfied all our needs. The location could not be better, just a block from Michigan Ave., The Water Tower Place, The Comtemporary Art Museum and next to the John Hancok Observatory. Easy to take the bus or the subway. Thanks to Shierly for all of her patience with me and my questions. Overall a great hotel experience.
“Fabulous Location, Hospitable Staff”
Our room accommodations were great - everything in the kitchen worked, silverware and some cups/plates were provided, including coffeemaker/fridge/microwave/stove/cutting board. Staff was very friendly, esp Suzy (sp?) who was very professional and addressed all our needs and concerns efficiently. Hotel doormen were always courteous and smiling. Overall, would stay here again if coming to Chicago.
