“Very impressed!”
Chicago is a stop for someone in our office at least 4-6 times per year so we have been searching for a hotel that offers it all.....location, quality, service and comfort. No more looking necessary, we finally found it. I highly recommend the Palomar.
“Met Our High Expecations”
We expected a lot from the Palomar Hotel given the strong reviews of others. It did not disappoint. Location-wise, the hotel was convenient to the Lake Michigan shore and Navy Pier area, the Chicago River walkway and Loop, and to Michigan Avenue and restaurant areas. The CTA Red Line was adjacent to the hotel. The neighborhood is safe and central with lots of pedestrian traffic. It lacks some of the intimacy of other parts of Chicago with smaller storefronts and sidewalk cafes (instead being larger hotels, parking garages and indoor shopping malls). Two blocks' walk however takes you to the more intimate areas. Staff was great. Hotel was spotless, room was very attractive with nice views, AC worked well (especially important as it was 90 degrees plus outside). We liked the coffee service in the morning. The hotel manager also hosted an early morning run for guests. We would absolutely stay there again for business or for pleasure.
“This hotel is my hotel from now on”
I hadn't heard of this hotel before. It was one that Expedia offered and we chose it because it was in the downtown areas and had a pool --we traveled with kids. From now on, I'll go to this hotel whenever I visit the Chi-city. Even though we spent only our evenings there, everything about it was great. Why did we like it? A few reasons: dining options were plenty. Since we came with small kids, we chose to eat at a Rain Forest Cafe that ~5 blocks away --and there's also a huge McDonalds across the street from that RF Cafe. The hotel does have a boutique feel to it, which we all liked. *Everyone* was attentive, the room was immaculate, and even the guests were in a constant state of good mood. I didn't use the fitness center (only looked at it), but it seemed good. The pool is not quite for kids, but they loved it anyway --guess kids don't care if a pool is for kids or not. Public transportation wise, we were connected to the entire city and the museum options. A main bus routes goes right through State St, and there's also a subway station one block away.
“Our New Home Away From Home”
.Great location, staff, room, and city! We are now Kimptom fans and will most likely choose a Kimpton when we travel. The staff was welcoming, accommodating, and efficient. When we asked for a room with a view, we were offered a corner room on the 16th floor. Perfect. The adjoining restaurant, Sable Kitchen and Bar exceeded our expectations in every way. We were within walking distance of multiple other excellent and varied restaurants as well. This hotel is the perfect location for walking to a variety of intriguing tourist spots. We loved the size and welcoming comfort of the hotel. Will certainly recommend this to friends and will stay here on our next visit to Chicago
“Loved it. You will to.”
The hotel rooms are clean and everything including the furniture down to the details are of high quality. The only problem which wasn't a big deal for me was the bathroom doors do not close as they should. But otherwise I loved my experience and the next time I am in Chicago I am definitely staying at the Palomar. Oh and its close to everything. It's really conveniently located. THe staff go way beyond your expectations. There are no microwaves in the rooms and they went out and bought one for us. I truly appreciated that gesture.
“Wonderful hotel in Chicago”
We were in Chicago for a few days in October and stayed at the Palomar which is in a great location. It is close to Michigan Avenue, a subway stop and an easy walk to the Chicago River. We were completely happy with the hotel and the staff. We had a wonderful room on the 15th floor. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The only problem we had was that the pillows weren't quite right. In the hotel's defense, we never asked for different pillows but we probably should have. We ordered room service a few times and they were also very nice. They delivered our orders promptly and the food was delicious. During our stay, we also asked the front desk and concierge for restaurant recommendations, directions and transportation and they were always so helpful. When we checked out, the desk clerk had already called the doorman to get us a cab to the airport! That is great service!
“Great hotel in perfect location.”
Absolutely fabulous hotel. Great location. Impeccable service. Nice upgrade upon arrival. Highly recommend.

“Posh at a Great Price!!”
Everything about this hotel was fabulous. The front desk staff was polite and efficient, the concierge was very helpful with securing dinner reservations at hot spots, the rooms were beautiful and up to date, and the attached restaurant/bar Sable is gorgeous and delicious as well. The hotel has a beautiful living room to relax in and they also do complimentary wine tastings every night from 5-6pm in the living room. It was a great way to start off our night before dinner. The hotel is also close to EVERYTHING. Restaurants, shopping, and nightlife were all within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again in the future!!
