Dining
Caliterra - This intimate, cherry-wood-accented room serves Californian and Italian fusion cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can dine on couches in the lounge, at romantic tables near the curved wall of windows, or in banquette seating. Breakfast consists of an elaborate buffet or a more traditional fare such as cereal and oatmeal. Lunch and dinner include organic salads, pastas, and seafood. The exhibition kitchen is lively at dinner, when a four- or six-course tasting menu and cheese cart is offered. A wine room can be reserved for small parties.
Recreation
The 20-mile-long lakefront path that borders Lake Michigan's shoreline is six blocks east of the Wyndham Chicago and is popular for running, walking, biking, or in-line skating. Bicycles, in-line skates, and pedal-powered buggies for groups are available for rent at several beachfront locations. During summer, Oak Street Beach, 0.5 mile north, and North Avenue Beach, 1.5 miles north, are popular for sunbathing and for swimming when lifeguards are on duty. Also in summer, beach volleyball courts are available for rental and pick-up games. Public tennis courts and a public golf course are both 4.5 miles northeast of the hotel.

“Great place, but...”
Stayed there in November 08 with my wife kids. I upgraded to a suite upon arrival which turned out to be a great move as the suite was very roomy and set up nice. This is an upper class hotel and I'm a middle class traveller so it was a nice change. ...but everything is extra $$$. Parking is $50 a night and internet access is $11/night. I would stay here again but only if I got the same deal through expedia. I felt a little nickel and dimed!! The pool, workout area were nice and the hotel is located right downtown just blocks from practically anything (Navy Pier etc.)
“Perfect Chicago location”
Clean, comfortable and charismatic concierge, this hotel was perfect for our weekend in the middle of the week vacation. Located close to everything, we never took a cab and walked from the Chicago Theatre to the Gold Coast and everywhere in between.
“Excellent customer service”
All the staff at the Wyndham went above and beyond to meet all our needs. A huge distinguishing factor for me among hotel choice is customer service. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. Also, the room was very clean and the beds were quite comfy.

The service from the check in staff, room maid staff to and especially the concierge were outstanding. This hotel is comfortable, convenient to all local tourist type activites. You can walk or taxi for under $10 to almost any of the tourist spots. Worth the price.

“Very nice hotel, but a very small pool”
The room was clean except that we found a crushed out cig on the bathroom floor in our non smoking room. Everything else was very nice and clean. Our kids were a little disappointed with the pool. Great location for seeing the sights!

Our Chicago stay was made all the more enjoyable by the staff and facilities of the Chicago Wyndham! The hotel location was perfect for access to Michigan Ave., The Navy Pier and Mellium Park. Public transportation was easily accessed. The staff was top notch especially the concierge staff. We definatley will return.
