“Groovy boutique stay”

I have stayed at a sister hotel - the Palomar - several times and liked it a lot. I wanted to be between the Art Museum and the regular haunts this time and was glad I opted for the Monaco, which is south of the canal. Toss up between Palomar and this one in terms of my favorite decor. Kimpton hotels are becoming my favorites! Great services for the size and price. Genuine and friendly staffers.

Very nice decor. Location was perfect for sightseeing and just wandering. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Would definitely book again.

Great stay.-- friendly and professional staff, excellent location, comfortable, well appointed room. Small touches like the evening wine tasting and the available yoga bag make it especially pleasant after a busy day.

“Kimpton Hotels are the BEST”

I stayed at a Kimpton Hotel in Virginia a few months ago--totally by accident. It was the most incredible stay at a hotel I've ever experienced. They rival the Ritz-Carlton in customer care. These hotels are great. Stayed at my second Kimpton recently in another city; same incredible experience. I now look for them when I travel.

I used to stay here years ago and had forgotten about this friendly and wonderful little hotel. I was then - and was again now - always pleased with the hotel, the staff, the room, the amenities, the location - it is a great find in downtown Chicago and I highly recommend it.

“Wonderful Hotel on the River”

We stayed at the Monaco over Memorial Day Weekend -- 2008. The staff was very professional and friendly. It's a quaint hotel a block off Michigan and near Millenium Park, the Art Institute, Chicago River, and Navy Pier. The hotel staff and the hotel welcomes you from the moment you enter the front lobby. We were very pleased with our room (comfort, size, cleanliness and decor). Our friends from Germany also stayed at the hotel and they loved it! I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will stay here on our next trip

Large, well appointed rooms Great location for shopping Michigan Ave.: Convenient to attractions- Museums,Navy Pier, Restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful-good Concierge Parking on site( for a fee)

“Convenient location”

This was our first time in downtown Chicago and being so centrally located was a real benefit. Clean, luxurious, helpful staff. Wish there had been at least one meal voucher. Then it would have been perfect.
