312 Chicago - American cuisine with an Italian touch is served in this two-level restaurant with a city-casual atmosphere. The top floor has amber-glass light fixtures, mahogany furniture, and plenty of booths. The main floor features a wooden bar and exhibition kitchen. Menu items such as spit-roasted organic chicken and gnocchi are served on white-linen tables. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Encore Lunch Club and Liquid Lounge - Boldly colored in dramatic red, yellow, and purple, this street-level lounge offers lunch Monday–Friday, and is a popular club in the evening. Serves 16 kinds of martinis, including the "Encore" which combines vodka with port. Appetizers, light meals, and desserts are served into the late evening.

“classy, modern hotel”

Great hotel, room was clean, modern and equipped with everything I needed and more. Convenient location in theatre district. Free coffee in the morning is nice. Hotel is fancier (pricier) than I would usually stay and I felt a bit out of place with my scruffy backpack but recommended if you get a good deal.

“very accommodating”

They allowed to check in as soon as we arrived, which was before noon and to check out later than the check out time as our plane was leaving mid afternoon. We enjoyed the daily wine reception as well as the complimentary tea and coffee in the mornings.

“Good Value Hotel”

Great value for a Chicago Hotel in walking distance of shopping, financial district with friendly staff and the wine/beer reception at 5pm is nice.

“too small”

The hotel is OK overall but it is way too small. One thing I immediately noticed was that they only have one chair. And bathroom is too small too.

“Disappointment at kimpton”

I usually like staying at the kimpton however the Chicago allegro was a complete disappointment. Bed was old and uncomfortable, bathroom was a postage stamp and room was set up poorly.

“It's a hotel”

The hotel worked. It was quiet enough for me to sleep through the night. And the bed was comfy. Some oddities were: some sticky stuff on the side of the bed that I kept stepping in, teeny closet, and I called valet for 10 minutes at 6am with no answer. Come to find out he was hanging out at the front desk having a conversation. However, it was in close proximity of where I needed to be and they have a wine reception in the evening.

“Awesome Hotel Staff”

The staff was amazing! Can't say enough good things about them all!! Even better than tourist towns like Vegas. Friendly, courteous, knowledge about the area, clean rooms, and unexpected extras make up for the small room and tiny bathroom. Not a good space for a family but perfect for a couple or a business trip alone.

Dining

Be sure to splurge on dinner at the John Hancock Signature Room. Very pricey but the views are breathtaking. Must have a reservation so make it at a time when the sun is about to set so you can see day and night views.
