“great room, great location in chicago's northside”

Was my first trip to Chicago and getting to the motel was very easy. Checking in/out was a snap. Wireless internet works great and is secured! A short bus and train ride to downtown. excellent local restaurants within walking distance, ask the front desk for suggestions. only problem i had was that i put down a non-smoking room on expedia, but wound up in a smoking room. not a big deal though as the room one of the cleanest i have ever been in.

“comfortable!”

The rooms were clean and very comfortable. My stay required a simple place to sleep; I planned to be out sightseeing all day long on the trip. A big plus was the free wireless internet! I'll go back there on my next trip to Chicago.

“Comfortable but not fancy”

Old fashioned type motel. Nothing fancy. Free parking a plus! Very clean and comfortable. Price includes a basic continental breakfast. Would definitely stay there again. We stayed there while visiting our daughter who lives within walking distance.

“Heart 'O' Chicago”

Hotel is a ways from down town, but still convenient and very cost effective. No frills Motel, but personally, all that is "fluff" you end up paying for anyway. :) Restaraunts in area very reasonable too. I enjoyed my stay. Parking is free, although I cabbed it so did not use that. Comfortable.. traffic noise but I got used to that.. it is Chicago. :)

“Nice Location”

Around the corner from cute shops and restaurants and across the street from the world's greatest neighborhood dive bar.

“WELL worth it!!!”

Cleaner than ANY chain hotel I've ever stayed at! Older building and decor, but well maintained and CLEAN!!! The L-train is within walking distance, the neighborhood is "normal" and safe, and the staff was extremely courteous. Free parking included for one vehicle, which in Chicago is a huge bonus. Continental breakfast was Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, two types of cereal, OJ, coffee, and a small variety of donuts/pastries. The beds/pillows were nice & comfy. The windows in the room opened, which was nice for fresh air on a superb fall day. The nightly rate can't be beat either. For anyone that's looking for a modern place to stay, look elsewhere. For anyone that's looking for a clean, safe and inexpensive place to stay, this is it. I will definitely stay here again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

“Uptown Motel”

The Motel was clean and roomy. It was basic, but very comfortable... older, but all I needed personally. The first place I have been that had free WiFi too.. that actually worked. The hotel staff were wonderful and considerate. If it weren't for the distance to the downtown area it would be perfect. Food places were a good walk down Clark, but I found very reasonable GREAT food places.

“Cheap and clean!”

Great stay! I went to Chicago for a one night stay to witness a reggae concert. The Heart O' Chicago Motel was in a perfect location to the venue. The room was VERY clean and the beds were extra comfortable. I wish there were closer food choices around besides the White Castle and the Mexican Supermarket. The continental breakfeast looked very good as well. The entire motel was booked im sure due to the fact that the Chicago Marathon was being held that weekend yet I experienced no type of noise that awoke me while sleeping (probably due to exhaustion!). Overall great cheap stay. I would definitely stay here again for a one or two night stay if I am on a buidget!

“Has Won My Heart”

Very few complaints with this hotel. Usually, if I book a 'cheap' hotel in a city, I prepare myself for something that I can just tolerate. However, I look forward to using this hotel again. It is within walking distance of the lake shore, and is in a nice neighborhood (Bryn Mawr and Andersonville are 10-15 min walk away). The service was also very friendly (although there was one incident where my friend could not get hold of the night porter). Only real complaint was that there was no refrigerator to keep our baby's food (so we had to buy the jarred stuff at Walgreens), but this was something I knew when booking the room. I'm looking forward to staying here again when visiting friends.
