“Would stay again”

Enjoyed my 6 night stay @ the Fairfield Inn & Suites on E. Ontario St Chicago. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially with directions. Room was very clean, ample breakfast daily, safe area & would stay again. Two blocks from E of Michigan Ave. Great restaurants within walking distance. Five blocks away at Wacker & Michigan Ave is where you board the double decker tour bus - two hour tour highlights city's buildings / attractions. Enjoyed my stay!

“A bit smokey”

The big thing about this place was the smoke. Not cigarette smoke, but wood smoke. Apparently there is some kind of chimney, from a restaurant or bakery or something that has an ongoing wood fire, right outside the back of this building. Hence my room, and according to other guests, a number of the rooms on the lower floors, had the slight aroma of a recent forest fire. It was mild, but enough that I could still smell it on my clothes when I got home. I think a person with allergies would have had trouble. The staff were apologetic, but resigned to the situation. If you stay there, get as high up a floor as you can.

“Great hotel at affordable price”

Overall, this hotel was great for the price. The staff was friendly and polite and the hotel had everything we needed for our stay in Chicago. The lobby was nicely decorated like a boutique hotel, but the rooms were a little outdated, particularly the carpet. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it really didn't bother us. Coming from NYC, the price was a breathe of fresh air so we didn't really care what the room looked like. Great place to stay in Chicago!
