“Awful in Alsip!”

Did not seeem to have my room assigned--I was put into a different room than was in the book or something. The tv remote could only access 6 cable channels, no network. Went back to change it. Not one soda machine was working. New remote did not work. Coffee pot did not work. Was offered a new room but I was already in pajamas. When coffee pot didn't work, told them I wanted new room for 2nd night, both immediately and again in the morning. Went to the inconvenience of packing everything up. Came back 2nd night to be told everything had been fixed so I packed up for nothing! Then coffee pot still didn't work. Staff brought missing part. The continental breakfast was totally mediocre. Brown bananas 1st morning were BLACK second morning. No protein available--no yogurt or peanut butter. Just starchy mediocre breakfast pastries; mini bagels + cream cheese were ok. No apple juice 1st morning. No one overly concerned about anything.

“Not Impressed”

I just stayed at this hotel 4-28-09. The hotel is not up to par. They have NO HOT WATER. Stay at the Doubletree Hotel next door. I wish I had!! We had noise all night due to People playing loud music and walking and playing outside our door. Spend a little more and stay at a good hotel!

“Do not stay here unless you can't find anywhere else”

On the plus side of this review, the hotel staff is A-1 to a person. Pleasant and very accommodating. Also, the mattresses in the rooms seems new, and are of high quality and very comfortable. However, these things could not make up for the condition of this hotel. The upper walkways are crumbling and in need of major repair within 24 months maximum. The vending machines were either out of order or empty. I rate the cleanliness of the room as a 1 because the carpets are filthy (we stayed in 2 separate rooms over 2 nights because of major problems with the first room (no cable, fixtures loose or falling out)). You could not walk barefoot in either room without the bottoms of your feet becoming black. Overall, I would stay 20 miles farther away from my destination (Bridgeview) than stay at this hotel again.

“Cheap and Dirty”

The only reason I cannot give this place the worst review ever is because the room was dirt cheap and it was a place to crash after a wedding (Double Tree next door was completely booked). The room smelled, everything was outdated from the comforter to the tv, our room card did not work when we got back from the wedding, there were random items around the hotel premises (rusty old grill, dirty chair), ice machine did not work (yet the guy in the lobby gave us a ice bag free of charge). From the outside this place is very deceiving. It does not look bad at all, very homey and cute place to stay. Inside, however, was the opposite. No wonder Double Tree was booked...

“Disappointed”

Hotel is a bit run down. Inexpensive so you get what you pay for. No elevator and had to bring heavy luggage up two flights of stairs. Would not recommend this hotel.

“Not Impressed”

The hotel was filthy. I had to go out and buy filp flops as I coundn't walk around on the carpet. I was afraid to sleep in the bed and purchased a blanket to evenlay my head down at night. I think, at some point, Expedia shouldn't even advertise for some hotels. This should have been one of them. I've trusted Expedia for years and this is the first time I've experienced this. I'd like to know that the hotels on your site are decent. I mean it will serve as my home awary from home and God knows that's not a home I would choose. I was very uncomfortable at the hotel and lost a lot of sleep. I went to have fun, this was a downer.

“Very disappointed”

The door to the outside of our room was so removed from the door frame that we could see to the outside (what must it be like in Winter). The bathroom sink was separated from the wall and looked like it would fall on the user at any time. There was no stopper in the sink. The wall light was broken on one side of the bed that should have been positioned over a night table that was not there. The television did not function and was unable to reach a LOCAL channel. The ice machine was broken and the vending machine that housed the drinks was unplugged AND empty!

“And the award for Worst Hotel Ever goes to...”

...Days Inn Alsip The Hotel is great for anyone that is EXTREMELY flexible. Extremely meaning, you have to be ok with being locked out of your room for hours because the key machine at the front desk was down for hours and they couldn't make us a new key. You have to be ok with a messy room when you first show up because housekeeping couldn't get into the room to clean it because, you guessed it, the keys wouldn't work in the door because the door locks were broken. They actually had to move us out of the first room we stayed in because there was a possibility of us not ever getting back in the room if we left. Then, when we had moved to our SECOND room they didn't update the reservation list and the people that were supposed to stay in the room the night we got switched came trying to get in. But, they couldn't because, you guessed it, their keys didn't work. In fact, the hotel staff just put them in the room we were in before, I actually had to warn the couple that the door didn't work and they might want to get their room switched if they wanted to hold on to their stuff. Overall this place sucked worse than a heat stroke in Pheonix, but the hotel staff was extremely pleasant. Anytime there was a problem the staff was willing to do anything they could to fix the problem, and I never experienced an ounce of attitude from any of the staff. The staff at this hotel should quit and go work at a nicer hotel because this place was a dump, and they deserve better.
