Both of the 2 elevators failed shortly after I checked in, and already had bags in my 25th floor room. This was early evening, on a weekend. The staff could not say how long it would be for the repair person to arrive and correct it. I had to walk up 25 floors when I returned from supper. No relief on the cost of the room was given, despite my request to front desk in the morning. I is hard to believe the elevator system was well-maintained if both of them failed unexpectedly at the same time. I makes one think that sometime earlier, money that should have been spent to make the electronics reliable was not spent, and finally all failed. Not having a reliable, prompt repair service contracted that would show up quickly for such an emergency failure also suggests penny pinching at the customers' expense. There has been no response at all to my request for a partial refund, made to staff the morning of departure. The excuse that Expedia paid for it was offered to suggest I shouldn't expect anything.

Loved our room with fantastic views of the city. One of us got breakfast at 6:30 and the other tried to get breakfast at 8:30 but most things were gone by then. Great location!

Horrible hotel, their pillows are so disgusting barely any filling left so it was inconvenient to sleep. On our first night, the shower area waa clogged. On the second night, the toilet got clogged. We had to report each incident to the front desk in the middle of the night. The breakfast food were ok, but if you come 30 minutes before the breakfast time is over, you would barely get decent food, you would end up getting left overs because they dont refill them even the milk. If you're on a budget then this hotel is good enough just be aware of these things.

Great location and a 2 room Suite!
Located on Michigan Ave., near Millennium park, a quick walk to many pubs, restaurants, and theaters. The hotel is a little outdated. But our 2 room suite was clean and contained lots of closet space, a full kitchen, including a stove with an oven. An added bonus was the washer and dryer in the bedroom closet and a view of the river. The cost was under $100 per night. This will be my go to hotel for my next stay in Chicago!

Very slow internet and disappointing room service
This hotel is at a great location in downtown Chicago. Our suite was nice too with comfortable bed and sofa bed. There were enough kitchen supplies as well. The breakfast is great as well with lots of variety (egg, sausage, cereals, pancake and waffle maker, etc.). However, their wifi internet is VERY VERY SLOW!!! Also, we never got proper room service. We stayed for 4 nights but our room was never cleaned or trash was not taken during our entire stay. We never had the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign infront of our door so there was no reason for cleaners not to clean our room. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean but wifi and room service was VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!

The hotel staff did not seem happy. I didn't ask much from them after my first encounter with the employees. My parents work in the hotel industry, and I've experienced much better customer service at Hilton hotels than here at a Choice Hotel. Housekeeping was amazing, I had to give them a tip when I checked out. The room was great, and the view was amazing. It was great to have complementary breakfast every morning.

Started with a bad exp. at checkin, room refrigerator didn’t work, light switch on lamp was broke, in room washing machine was broke. They fixed 2 of the 3. Wireless in the room was horrible.

Great little place right on Mich Ave
A tight little sliver of a hotel right on Michigan avenue. The rooms are almost little apartments. Full size fridges and well appointed kitchens. View can be good depending on room. Staff friendly and overall well maintained and clean.

Surprise find
I ended up in Chicago a day earlier than expected and the hotel at which I had a reservation for the remainder of my trip would only extend my reservation for three times the rate I originally paid. I found Comfort Inn around the corner, and what a nice surprise - especially for the price and this level hotel! First, it is well located, near the river and in The Loop. The rooms (suites) are large, with a full kitchen, dishwasher(!), washer and dryer(!) and a king size bed, which was quite comfortable. Nothing too fancy, maybe a little dated, (althought the high-tech bathroom mirror was cool), but clean and pretty nice. The staff was super friendly. The breakfast is your basic free breakfast fare. While it is on Michigan Avenue, it is fairly quiet. One thing I would point out is that my room, particularly the living room, was a bit drafty (it was frigid outside). Overall, recommended

We were there for a two-night stay. This is the third time my friends and I have stayed at Comfort Suites for Christmas shopping. When we returned to the room the second day, tired from walking and shopping the Magnificent Mile all day, we found that housekeeping had not cleaned our room. We are tidy people but we had no fresh towels and the trash had not been emptied. This was the only glitch in our otherwise great trip to Chicago.

The location is really great, but we were not very happy with this hotel nearly from the minute we checked in. There were 2 tiny elevators and one of them was completely shut down; the staff didn't warn us about that. After we checked in we turned the corner to get on the elevators and there was a line of about 16 people, all with luggage. We had 2 young kids, 2 suitcases, and we were on the 18th floor, so walking up the stairs was a no-go. After waiting TWENTY minutes, we finally get on and it's making terrible creaking noises. Talk about frightening! The staff also used the elevators for cleaning carts and such, so every time we wanted to use the elevator we had to wait forever. The room was clean/comfortable for the most part, but the pull-out bed was dreadful. We had to ask for extra pillows just so our kids could sleep on it. They didn't have any sheets, pillows, or blankets in the room for the couch either. Had to go to the desk to get them. The next morning we tried the free breakfast. It was chaos. There were no eggs or ham left, and a line of a dozen people waiting for those items to come out. The cook brought 5 eggs, no ham. Everyone groaned when the man in the front took 4 out of the 5 eggs, and then it took a further half an hour for us to even hit the front of the line. No eggs again. I knocked on the catering door and was shouted at when I asked how long they expected it to be. Don't bother if you're in a hurry or are looking for a free breakfast.

My family stayed at this hotel many times. Good location, spacious room, kitchen, living room, etc. are the best cost for caustic expenses. They're building a new building on the park side next to the hotel, so consider the noise.

Great location, spacious suites
I've stayed at the Comfort Suites several times, because suites are spacious, quiet and have a real kitchen, and because of great location. Access to transit is perfect. Art Institute, Lyric Opera, restaurants and shopping are easy to reach. On this stay, I had NO internet service. Reported it to the desk upon arrival, then a few hours later, and so on. After 11:00 p.m. I finally was connected to tech services, who determined they could not fix the problem on my floor. At about 11:45p.m., desk staff told me I could change rooms, which I did not want to do that late. The desk staff person said the room might not be available next morning. I used internet on ground floor for rest of stay. Two staff at desk who REALLY were helpful and seemed to care about addressing the problem were Jose and Diana. They were professional and friendly. Hope they will be at the desk on my next stay!

Not everything was clean, there was a mug left out on our counter that was still dirty when we arrived. The bed and space were nice, however the tub had a chip in it and the shower head vibrates when you used it.

Decent place at a good price
Great location and really nice, helpful staff. Decently clean...my only complaint was that the bed and pillows weren't great. mattresses leaned towards the floor on the side next to nightstand and the pillows were small and not very comfy

The staff was friendly and efficient and the room was clean and comfortable. We had the queen bed with sofa bed option and it was spacious and gave us a separate sleeping area for the teens. Location is perfect for sightseeing and shopping. Definitely an excellent stay for us.

A Really Good Choice
Comfort Suites on Michigan Avenue looks a bit run down from the outside but our room was very nice. quite large and narrow with a small kitchen, living room and a semi separate bedroom (walls on three sides). washer and dryer in the room much appreciated. bathroom was well appointed and a good size. excellent water pressure and heat for being on the 13th floor. desk staff helpful for the most part but not that friendly as we passed by to enter and exit. room attendants very friendly. hotel location is in the business district so lots of places to eat and shop. gets noisy outside quite early in the morning-trucks, honking, construction,and general movement of people. breakfast was standard, uninspired hotel fare. many better options in the area (Wildberry Cafe!) good access to subway, el train, and ride-share services here. don't get a car to see the city! traffic is bad. location is conducive to visiting many major sights in town including, Art Institute, Field Museum, and Millennium Park. any others are easy to get to through the public transit.we enjoyed our stay here and with prices in Chicago, a relative bargain.
