“Wonderful experience!”

Still amazed at the extent that these people's customer service extends, I feel compelled to let others know. The reviews on this hotel are what made my choice in selecting it and they did not disappoint. I was stranded, having miscalculated the distance to a wedding, and this crew assisted me in looking at every transportation option possible until it finally became evident that I was not going to make it. It wasn't that I was just going to the wedding, I was solemnizing the wedding and had come clear across the country to do so. The staff contacted their management and as if a guardian angel had ascended, allowed Brian to drive me all the way to the wedding, much further than an airport shuttle had ever gone. I am deeply indebted and wanted to praise them all. What a great staff!! Beyond the call of duty!!

“Great Personal Service and Value”

Van pick-up at airport and the Orange Line train both at 1.5 miles. Drop off at nearby restaurant. Rooms have micro and refer. Good TV. Breakfast includes a hot egg and cheese bagel. We changed our downtown hotel stay to this hotel as it was better for half the price. The people running this place are very friendly.

“Convenience & Kindness”

Convenience : Carlton Inn Midway is very close to Midway Airport & also train stop for going downtown. Motel shuttle service is fast and free. Kindness : I found shuttle drivers, staff at front desk, and housekeepers to be extremely willing to answer my questions and give me any help I needed. In the future, rather than staying downtown where the action is, I will stay at Carlton Inn for half the downtown price and use the handy train to get downtown. Downside : the Carlton Motel area is not thrilling.

“Would definitely stay again. friendly, helpful staff. clean, large room”

the 24 hr shuttle was a plus. the receptionist was very helpful - as were all the staff. The room was much larger than i had expected. everything was clean. I would definitely stay here again. i rated the neighborhood high, giving them the benefit of the doubht - because I knew nothing to state otherwise -- it was midnight when i arrived and early morning when i left. I would have picked 'Unknown' if that had been an option.

“Great Desk Staff”

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights on a tourist's trip to the windy city. The front desk staff was consistently helpful in all matters. They had 3-day CTA passes available at the desk, saving us the trouble of messing with the machines at the station. They offered the services of their airport shuttle for other minor trips to train stations and bus stops. Their manner was friendly and relaxed but still professional.

“pretty good”

Overall good place to stay for the money. This is in an ok part of chicago, very spanish/mexican neighborhood as well as a big polish population. pretty close to the major highways that take you into the city, although traffic on those highways could get pretty jammed up even at night, and some of the roads in the area all around chicago were just awful. (and I'm from Pittsburgh!) but the staff was extremely nice, when we checked in, they upgraded our room to a larger non-smoking room without us even asking them to, and the room was nice. fridge, microwave. The cable in the room sucked the first 25 channels did not display correctly, but we weren't there to watch tv. room was clean bed was comfy. you might want to bring an extra pillow though, they give you 3 tiny pillows per bed. Overall we were very satisfied, and if we ever need to go back to chicago I would stay here again.

“Great Staff (including the resident dog!)”

The staff was terrific!! The hotel is well maintained, though don't expect anything fancy, mind you. We were very happy with our room--liked the microwave, coffee maker, free on-demand movies and shows, wi-fi and mini fridge! Just two blocks from the Orange Line and a 25 minute ride to downtown. Will definitely stay here again!

“This is a true gem!! Customer Service beyond many 4+Star Hotels!”

We booked this motel because of all the positive reviews and were not at all disappointed. We have not booked a Motel in years, much less anything with only 2 Stars. Yet I was not about to pay the price that was going in Chicago, PLUS parking, PLUS breakfast...and on top of that, those hotels had some bad reviews even though they might have had more stars. This is also the only place I could find that was close to a Tram Station. You could walk there in just a few minutes, but they have a great Shuttle Service (even if the Vans don't look the best). They were able to sell us Day Passes for the MTA. I called ahead to ask how the traffic would be at our arrival time. The man was EXTREMELY helpful and even knew my name and date, even though I only left my number. He noted that we requested a quiet room, he did warn me that they are close to the airport. Depending on the weather and landing, we could hear planes (we did not). He noted that we would be arriving early and what we planned to do. When we arrived, they had printed out different time plans for the tram, picked out flyers and even highlighted spots on maps to help us what we (as a family) might want to see in Chicago. The next morning, they told us the best way to get to the Science and Indust. Museum and even the tip of where we could park for free. We got thru Chicago at 9:15 a.m. with NO traffic! The rooms are clean, ours was spacious. Not the Ritz...this is a motel. It was quiet, cont. Breakfast was a plus!

“Louisville weekend trip”

I was in Chicago staying with family from Fri night to Mon morning. Did not want to fight rush hour traffic from North Side to Midway Mon morning so I wanted to find a place to stay by the airport for 12 hours. I was worried about the area more than anything. The neightborhood was by all means fine and the staff was courteous, Room was small but very clean. Shuttle to Midway was free and runs every 30 min If I'm in that situation again I will stay there again.

I picked this location because it is close to public transportation access and to the Midway airport. The way above average continental breakfast, the airport shuttle service and overall well appointed and clean room made the stay better than I would have expected. I would definitely pick this spot again.
