“Best hotel experience - ever! Wonderful experience, great staff, great location.”

This was the best hotel experience I have had. My husband and I stayed at the Amalfi from11/21-11/25/09. It is exactly as described on the hotel website and more. The staff and amenities were wonderful. We had an early flight & stopped by the hotel to drop our bags off at 9:30 am & Chris helped us at the desk. He was amazing! He was so friendly and professional & offered to let us go ahead and check in - this was great considering we had been awake since 4 am. We checked in and out with him & it was seamless - we had no problems whatsoever. He was very helpful with directions & suggestions. The lobby of the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful, the furnishings were modern, it was very comfortable and clean. The daily maid service was impeccable. This was such a relaxing stay, we didn't want to leave the room. The breakfast & evening cocktail reception were great. Loved the "Amalfitini"! The room had a flat screen tv, dvd player, mp3 alarm clock, books & cds.The hotel is in a great location, it's walking distance (about 3 blocks) from the L, one block from the bus to Navy Pier. The House of Blues and Hard Rock Cafe, and the Theatre district are also within walking distance. We are planning our next stay.

“Excellent choice”

We found the Amalfi to be an excellent choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was much more than we expected as was the evening cocktail hour. Our room was VERY clean and had ample space for three adults. One dissapointment was the view, we were overlooking the roof of an adjoining building. The location was fine, within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and experience. We definately will return to the Amalfi.

“Would Definitely Return”

We found the Amalfi to be an excellent choice. It was very convenient to Michigan Avenue shopping and lots of wonderful restaurants. The hotel was modern, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Special kudos to the housekeeping staff who were always extremely pleasant and helpful. Only criticism was that the check-in was not efficiently set up and the bellmen were not helpful with information unless you were using valet service.

“A Great Stay”

This hotel was perfect in every way. Location was just one short block off Michigan Ave therefore it was quieter. The staff were especially helpful with shopping and other city tips (did you know you can take a subway out to the outlet malls and then a short taxi ride? OR that you can take a subway from the airport downtown and then a short taxi ride to your hotel?) Good, reasonable priced restaurants were close by and 'touristy things' were near. The rooms were large, roomy; the bathroom larger than most hotel bathrooms and the staff helpful. I definitely plan to stay with this hotel again.

“Chicago's Best Hotel”

We have stayed in at least seven different hotels in downtown Chicago in the last 18 months. Largest room, best bathroom with huge shower with double shower heads. Best feature was comfortable beds. Will not go anywhere else in the furure!

“Great Boutique Hotel”

European-style rooms, so they are a little small, but the hotel was fantastic, the breakfasts and receptions were very nice. They could use a few more tables because it gets a little crowded. Wonderful place to stay, nice amenities.

“Comfortable”

Fancy hotel. Wouldn't normally pay that much to stay in Chicago, but it was on sale. Really close to everything and L station. Gym and business center made it even better.

“Great for business traveler”

I was in Chicago for a 4 day meeting. Stayed at the Amalfi and was very impressed. Strong Wi-fi Connection, business center with copiers and fax, and continental breakfast every morning. Service was prompt and friendly.

“Fabulous Find”

I have stayed in a lot of large hotels but this little one beats the best of them. From the moment you enter the chic reception the place is fabulous. We got there early (11am) - no problem, a room is ready with all my preferences. The room was larger and more comfortable than I expected given it's location right downtown and everything was fresh. The breakfast outdid most 'continental buffets' and there was plenty of choice and fresh food right up until the last minute. Evening cocktail and appetisers were superb - and very popular! We are definitely going back, it is probably the best value for money hotel I have ever been to.

“The Fun Amalfi in Chicago”

Great hotel. The lobby is uninspiring as they are remodeling, but don't let that put a damper on your stay. The concierges are 5 star all the way, and go above and beyond their job duty. They gave us coupons, discount cards, maps and much advice on great places to go and eat at. The hotel has free breakfast on every floor, a cocktail hour and a half with free drinks and hor'dourves. 24 hr gym and business center where you can surf the web and print for free!
