We loved our stay at Ruen Come In. It was peaceful and a beautiful property. We were given a cold drink upon check in and they carried our luggage up to the room. The room itself was very cute and clean. The breakfast was great and everyone working there was so friendly! We had an evening flight and they stored our luggage during the day after check out and allowed us to use the outdoor pool shower to clean up before departing. Overall highly recommend!

Friendly and helpful staff, Quite and peaceful
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The resort is very quite and peaceful, Overall we were very happy staying there. Big bathroom, very nice bathtub even the bathtub shower switch wasn't working but It was fine. We are not the big eaters, the portion of breakfast was very nice and proper, great presentation. The food tasted very clean, seems like no MSG ... MSG is the big problem in Thailand. We would recommend this place.

Perfect stay in Chiang Mai
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the people are amazing. My husband and I had a fantastic time staying at Ruen Come Inn. The breakfast every morning was delicious and most food items are sourced from the owners local, organic farm. We also enjoyed a yoga class one morning and appreciated help from the hotel manager in renting a motor bike to drive around town. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to go back one day.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Hotel was quiet with heaps of character. The food was really delicious local Thia food. Not the newest or biggest place but had a very traditional atmosphere with all the comforts. The pool was clean and oh so refreshing after a morning out and about! Try a Thai Sabah cocktail- delicious! The rooms were comfortable and nicely fitted out. A great find! Would definitely stay here again.

Great welcome and help getting to the hotel from the airport. Staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay special. We reserved the most simple room, but even so it was very large and comfortable with great AC. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

A taste of Thailand
Really felt like we were in Thailand. It was different than a westernized hotel and we really like that. It’s situated in a quiet area away from the hubbub of the city — we would have liked to be a bit closer — but nothing a short Uber ride could t cure. Lovely staff and very nice rooms.

A hotel which requires better customer service
We stayed at Ruen come in for 3 days and 2 nights. The staff mallika who greeted was polite and friendly but the other staff Pat was extremely rude and absolutely had unaccepatble behaviour.. True warmth from a hotel comes when only profits are not seen and guests are seen as the ones who help sustain the hotel industry!!

Great hotel but not a great location
We knew the hotel was away from the centre but we hadn’t realised how far and how you’d need to depend on transport. We’d hoped to be able to walk to nearby areas but the roadworks on the main road were so bad, we couldn’t. Maybe once these are finished, there’ll be a decent walkway. The hotel itself was lovely and they would help you get transport so if you’re not a walker, it’s fine. As independent travellers, we felt a bit marooned. The hotel offers yoga/excursions/cooking class packages and we met people on these who were very happy with them. These would be worth investigating.

Fantastic hotel with lovely staff
Extremely friendly staff welcomed us to the hotel. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. Nice pool and restaurant area. Walkable into the Chiang Mai old town. Good food and they even spent an afternoon with us teaching us how to make Krathong banana leaf boats to release during the Thai festival among with snacks and drinks.

Room was nice but the "house" is to close to a busy and noisy street and room had a view on the parking lot of the hotel (not nice!). Area is quite far from interesting places (good only if you have transportation).

Clean rooms, friendly staff.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, refreshing pool, good breakfast. Had to take transportation to and from city centre/markets etc. Two nights our room was very quiet, the other two were a bit noisy because someone was in the room above us and their air conditioner was loud. The management was great and offered to move us to another room. I would suggest asking for a top floor room. The attractions they offered in the room service book were all elephant trekking, it would be nice to see some ethical non riding options.

Overall we had a good stay for our 3 nights at the Ruen Come In in Chiang Mai. We got a negative first impression from our check-in due to one specific staff member not being very helpful in telling us the best way to get around (we later figured out it was to just catch a Songthaew from the main road). He also booked us a taxi to the temple for the next day, which ended up being a rip-off. Everything went up from there, though, as every staff member thereafter was very helpful. The location is a bit off the beaten path and not walkable to much, though as mentioned before it is pretty easy to catch a red truck for cheap from a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It is close to Nimman road, but the walk on the main road can be challenging and unpleasant. Very quiet and relaxing place to come back to. The hotel is gorgeous and our room was clean and comfortable, with an awesome shower and bathtub and all the amenities we needed. Wifi worked great. Breakfast was meh. Overall pretty good value and would recommend as long as you don't mind being a little farther from the action.

Nice hotel but not a 4* (more like a guesthouse)
Nice authentic building away from the huste and bustle of busy Chiang Mai but also close to a busy high way. Forty minutes walk to the old city by tackling the busy traffic of Chiang Mai. Also easy to reach by tuktuk but not easy to catch one from the hotel, although transport is available by the hotel at surcharge if required. The pool was nice and was quiet during our stay. The owner was available at the hotel at all times as the hotel is a family run business and was nice and very helpful. She was immediate in her response to any request or queries. The breakfast in our view let this property down as it was not a buffet and the choice was limited; also to decide the day before on the choice of breakfast you want for the next morning was an inconvenience although this practice was dropped during the last days of our stay.

Nice place
Nice hotel and friendly staff. The hotel is situated a little out of the way, but fortunantly taxis are fairly cheap in Chiang Mai, so a taxi downtown is only about 200 baht. The hotel is nicely situated with gardens and a friendly enviroment. Only argument is the breakfast, allthough homemade and tasty i found it to small and had to ask for a second serving.

Great Place with a Thai Feel
Great place with excellent service. The room was wonderful, and the beautiful Teak was a unique touch that really gave this place a Thai feel. Please note that this place is a bit outside the city center, but close to one of the better malls. So you will need transport to get anywhere. I would highly recommend this place as long as you don't mind being a bit away from the city center.

Nice attention and beautiful hotel
I stayed at this hotel on April 2015 and it was a great experience. I loved the breakfast options, specially the pad thai and the attention was awesome. Our wooden room was beautiful and very clean, and the hotel itself looks like a piece of art, I loved every detail of it. The staff was very attentive and you can book the tours with them. In our case, we book almost 90% of them, including a cooking class that was excellent (they give you the recipe and all the food you prepare you can eat it or take it home). My husband fall sick one day (probably because he didn't wash his hands) and one person of the staff brought him rice free of charge, which was very amicable.

Four of our 11 nights in Thailand; the other 7 were in much more expensive hotels, but this one leaves us with the fondest memories. For the price a very good place to stay, and a truly personal, personable service from the very lovely owners. Great food too!

A small & clean oasis in an otherwise busy city
OVERALL We had a fantastic stay. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and VERY helpful (e.g. when it comes to booking activities or tours). The hotel can recommend activities, and they don't seem to have any affiliation to any of the tour operators, so the choice is yours and the staff is here to arrange (e.g. by calling a few places for availability and booking). ROOM The rooms are spacious and very clean - we felt extremely safe and hygienic. Service is fast and efficient. LOCATION The hotel is not in the "box" that marks the city core. The popular city spots (bars, market etc) are NOT in walking distance. The (slight) disadvantage: You will have to take a Tuk Tuk (around 200 Baht) or take one of the red buses (around 50 Baht per person). The red buses (usually) don't stop at the hotel, so this involves a short walk along the highway. The advantage of this location: The place is very calm. It's like a little oasis is an otherwise busy city! ALL IN ALL A fantastic place. Seriously. Probably the nicest hotel we've stayed in during our Thailand trip (in the 20€-100€ range). I would chose this hotel again any time I'm in Chiang Mai. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

A unique hotel near Chiang Mai
A beautiful antique style Thai building, with lavish rooms and elegant courtyards, made entirely of wood, with a wonderful and very special feel. The spacious suites are fantastic value. Only downside is the slightly nondescript surroundings, not within walking distance of the centre of Chiang Mai - but this is an easy tuk-tuk/baht-bus/taxi ride of about ten minutes. The price of the hotel is very reasonable even when you factor in the 300 baht a day for return transport, and when you get back to the hotel after a hot day's touristing, it's like coming back to a peaceful oasis.

Nice and Cozy
This is a super small Inn with around 5 rooms/suites. The facilities are really pleasant and feel really cozy. Gave us the feeling of a traditional Thai home! The rooms were super super spacious with a separate living room area and large balcony. The staff was nice, but had a very limited English vocabulary, so it was very difficult to communicate. Only one gentleman (whom we think was the owner) spoke English fluently. We basically had to communicate via signs and pointing. Contrary to most of the reviews we read online about this hotel, we were not too happy with the location. It is quite outside the downtown Chiang Mai area. It is not within walking distance so you have to take about a 10-15 min. Tuk-Tuk ride into the downtown area. We would have preferred to stay in the heart of the city for easy access to the various restaurants and shops. It is also not very known amongst the taxi drivers so be sure to have a map of the hotel so you're able to return safely (hotel provides one upon check-in). Also, they are currently constructing a building right next door, so every morning we would start hearing the saws and various construction equipments being used. This was very loud and disturbed our sleep in the mornings. Lastly, they do not accept AMEX, so if you were looking to use your card to avoid international transaction fees, be prepared to have a plan B.

Wonderful, friendly staff with big beautiful room.
This hotel is not in the old town but a comfortable, easy tuk tuk ride away. The Inn is beautiful, and the staff absolutely wonderful! The food is delicious, quiet hidden. The only way you don't want to stay here is if you want to be right in the middle of a party scene though found plenty of live music, fun places near there.

Unique Teakwood Boutique Hotel
We stayed in the Deluxe Room for 2 nights and the general experience is really good. There are only 5 rooms and so ambience is very quiet. Staff is friendly and we enjoy the breakfast a lot which you can pick from a variety from traditional Chiang Mai style, Pha Thai, rice or western one. Pool is small but quite nice and I am surprised to find that there is a jacuzzi bathtub in the room! I like the fact that the whole house is made of wood which makes it quite special and pleasant to stay at. We also like the location because it is quiet and also not too far from the old city. We found it convenient to stay there as we are driving. If you are not driving, it may be a problem as it is located in a small alley. However, I think it is still a very nice place to stay at.

an excellent resort and very helpful staff
I stayed here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. We chose to stay a suite. The resort locates at a quite area. As there are only 5 rooms, it seems there are nobody around you. We were very satisfied with the resort in everything. Breakfast is made by order. Thai style breakfast is much more better than the western style. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty. If I visit Chiang Mai, I am sure I will stay here again. The staff are excellent too, very very helpful.

not that good
I find this Inn (no hotel) overrated here and in TripAdvisor. With the same price you can get a full hotel (3-4 stars) with better location and better services (derived from a big hotel). The Inn is located far from downtown, although this is not a big deal (tuk-tuk are very cheap) in a wooden house (no shoes allowed inside the house, which I found annoying) and the floor makes a lot of noise, so you can listen when anybody is coming in or out. The sauna is just for the biggest room, not for all guests. I didn´t use the pool, but is not a big thing. The garden need more maintenance. The people working in the restaurant and general services are very kind and gentile, but with VERY limited english. Food is the only really good thing in this place, house-made thai food with great flavor and great price. Room was big, with small bathroom (not that clean). The manager has a better english, but very limited as well. I expected some advice and recommendation on tours and usual tourist information, but got a big disappointment, the manager just provided a map of the city and the portfolio of one single tourist company. Conclusion: is not a bad property, but should lower prices, because with same price you can get better hotels in the city.

Amazing "real Thai" hotel
You stay in a charming Thai residence built from teak on the outskirts of the city. As there a so few rooms you feel like you're the only people there at times. Food, service and facilities all fantastic.
