When I tried to check in after 16:00, the front desk said the room was not ready yet because it needed a "safety check." Not a problem, I thought, but after I sat in the lobby for over 35 minutes I went up to the front desk to ask for an update; a person said the room was now available and sent me on my way. While I understand that covid/pandemic has put more of a burden on the cleaning staff, I was a bit surprised that the front desk did not do more welcome me. (A bottle of water while I waited would've been greatly appreciated.) Instead, the front desk staff acted as if waiting for your room was a normal business fact. Later on, after I sent in a comment through Expedia, a hotel representative reached out to offer complimentary breakfast, which was very kind of her. So my review is mixed. I very much appreciate that they tried to fix an error and I truly understand the pandemic has made things difficult (especially with hiring), however, I just didn't expect the uneven service. (There were other annoyances that I won't mention.) On the positive: the view from my room was nice and the location can't be beat. However, I would stay elsewhere next time.
