Good location by Maya mall. Pool and breakfast nice. But rarely any towels at pool. Gym was horrible. Broken equipment and I had to figure out the A/C with many buttons myself.

The room was dirty with spider webs, dirty bedsheets, bath tub cracked and rusty and the bathroom smelled of urine. Arrived late, complained but staff claimed they couldn't do anything. Pre-paid for a week, but left next morning, no refund. Avoid this rundown place, it is a scam.

Great view and nice breakfast buffet. Staff friendly and helpful. From airport taxi is flat rate $200thb: managed to get a red pickup truck taxi on the return for $100.

It is located on a main road that U turn is only allowed about 1 km away from the hotel. Also the junction at Maya Centre is always jammed. However it takes only 10-15 minutes to go to Maya Centre if by walking.

Room is spacious but dated. The bathroom is kind of small though. They could have made it a bit bigger. The Wi-Fi is slow and at one point their router couldn’t provide an internet connection. I called the front desk but they were unable to assist.

Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel
Really glad we chose the Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel. The service was excellent. The manager, Rolf, was so helpful, as were all the staff personnel. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The staff also helped arrange several excursions and their recommendations turned out to be excellent.

What a wonderful stay we had! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, modern and stylish. The breakfast buffet was large, varied and delicious. The hotel is located close to town, the night market and the airport, but not too close. It was very quiet at the hotel. We will definitely return!

Sweeping view of city and nearby hills
Hotel's rate is attractive, service is excellent and breakfast is delicious. The hotel's location is splendid if you tend to spend more time at Nimmanhaemin road and Maya Lifestyle mall. Wifi access is a little troublesome - you need to fill up the hotel's wifi user name and password again each time you log back into the web if you have ended your web browsing session. Room is very spacious and fairly clean and comfortable, though the design looks plain. The only negative aspect of the hotel to me is the aging furniture and decoration, especially in the lobby. If you could look past that, the hotel is a fine choice.

aircon not working properly
Aircon delivered only one set temperature, unable to select different temperatures, even though remote control provided this. On request a technician came and "fixed" the problem. Nothing has changed. So we requested another room, "with working aircon". We were given another room, however when moving in, we were told that in fact all hotel rooms are like this, temperature cannot be selected. Why then did they pretend to repair it? On one side of the hotel you hear the planes from the nearby airport - very noisy. If you are happy with all the above, then you should stay there!!! Very nice staff, very clean, comfortable, very good breakfast.

Standard Chiang Mai Hotel
This is a marginal hotel at best, but most likely the best Chiang Mai has to offer. I was here for business in the attached Convention Center. The convention center (meeting rooms, facilities) was nicer than the hotel. My room had new flooring but stained wallpaper, a hard bed and used slippers. The A/C was loud and intense, even at the lowest setting. Staff was friendly. Food was marginal and limited--not the variety of delicious Thai food I've come to expect. It does appear to be a good location for bus tours to the temples or Elephant School, as I saw several tour groups leaving every morning. The hotel caters to guided tour groups, especially Chinese tourists. There is no concierge service or information on nearby attractions for the solo traveler. Best to have your excursions planned out prior to your hotel stay. Prices are reasonable but staff encourages you to pay cash for everything and will ask for cash if you attempt to pay for meals with a credit card, especially for the buffet. This is obviously a problem for those on business that prefer to use a corporate credit card. They do accept credit cards, so stand your ground when paying.

The hotel is too old
We checked in at night. We noticed that the room is quite old by the look. After we come back dinner., we cannot open the door after tried several time. We then asked help from front desk. However, still can't open. Some guys come with a drill come and tested. We then asked to transfer to another room. They stay to fix the door. We wait until they notified us. Then we get back our stuffs afterwards. However, The room we transferred was quite dirty. Besides, Television received is low in resolution. Breakfast is ok as nothing much expected.

The hotel was great. We were only there for our last night in Thailand but the hotel was clean. The staff were great. They were able to set us up for with a taxi to pick us up from the hotel at 4am to take us to the airport.

Ok hotel but quite far from all the attractions
The hotel is quite remote as opposed to all the other hotels in the city center, so you have to take a cab or tuk tuk each time if you want to go out (The is a free shuttle to the Night Market but it is only one per day and no return trip available). The rooms look ok but they have an old feeling to them. There is a shopping mall in walking distance. If I would travel again to Chiang Mai I would probably pick a hotel in the city center.

HORROR!! THIS IS A BEDSIT NOT A HOTEL
This place is absolutely horrendous. Dated and dirty. Rude staff. Constant noise..... I have no idea why it is called Grandview.... The only view that it has is the highway... I suppose it is a Grandview of the highway. It has peeling wallpaper everywhere with damp stains. Dated furniture. The corridors are dark and dingy. Sewage smells everywhere. This is not a international standard hotel by any means. Certainly not a 4 star. It would be lucky to reach even 2!

Nice hotel and really great staff. Brought our bags to the room and got us a taxi when needed. However, the breakfast buffet is really not great, and the 2 of us both ended up getting food poisoning from it. Only stayed here 2 days and on the 2nd day we both got violently ill which took about 24hrs to be able to function again, but took about 5 days to feel back to normal and have an appetite. Do yourself a favor and don't eat the buffet!

Old Property needs Complete Makeover Renovations
Deluxe Room and deluxe price. 2 Double Beds not King Size, bathroom for seniors is a joke. Breakfast and food area very small. Asked for some Ice and told it will cost 50 Baht, only 1 room key per room. Lunch buffet using MSG in some food with no disclosure, my wife is intolerant to MSG and comes out in rashes.

Clean and Accommodating
The staff at the hotel was very polite and tried to accommodate our early arrival. They offered great information about things to do in Chiang Mai while we waited. The room was clean and in great condition with additional features that we didn't expect.

Comfortable stay
I stay in this hotel for a business trip, the room and quality of service was very satisfactory. Even though the facilities were a bit old-fashion, the overall staying was comfortable. The air condition was quit strong but if you enjoy opening the windows, it is still acceptable. The location is just 10 mins to city center and 15 to 20 mins to airport when travelling by taxi/red car/tuk tuk.

No internet!.Not close to the city center.
I find it unbelievable that a business hotel doesn't have a reliable internet service at all!!.It is pretty bad.Also,they told me that it was close to the city centre but it is NOT true. Stagf wasn't helpful and breakfast was quite bad.

I found the staff to be very rude and unfriendly. They wear a "smile button" but it's too bad they don't actually smile at you. I needed to make a local call to another hotel, the girl at reception told me you can use the hotel cell phone and it's 24 bhats a min. Are you kidding me? What kind of service is that..... All she had to say was you can make a local call from your room. Overall very disappointed.

We didn't have a good experience with the hotel staff, in particular, one that was unfriendly and unhelpful at Chiangmai Grandview Hotel & Convention Cente. We arrived one week prior to our booking (I made a mistake with the booking) and requested the hotel staff to resolve the issue by moving the paid booking forward. However, the staff refused to assist us, and I can understand she may be bound by policies but her response was rude, unhelpful and not wanting to help us at all. Definitely not going back there in the future and not recommending anyone to stay there.

Friendly staff and great breakfast
Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is generally well maintained, except for the pool area which does not seem to be used at all. Buffet breakfast was great. The hotel location is not the best, but the complimentary shuttle to the Kalare Night market made up for it.
