Nunsmere Hall was exactly what we were looking for - a traditional luxury country house in attractive grounds with a quiet and sophisticated atmospehere reflected in the facilities, the beautiful furnishings and the respectful and friendly attention from very professional staff. Every aspect of our stay impressed from Melvin's warm, personal welcome to the scale and opulence of the Hydrangea bedroom; from the personal attentiveness from our bar steward to the quality breafast before departure.
Despite an early check in (before 1pm) we were disappointed to find no table available to book for dinner at a reasonable time. I understand that success breeds demand but felt that something might have been done to accommodate residents. Nonetheless, a great experience which we will repeat.

Me & my husband have just spent a wonderful few days at The Mere Hotel. It was everything I was hoping for, the hotel itself has lovely decor of a very high standard. The bedrooms are spacious and well equiped with adjustable heating and the bathrooms are also very good with under floor heating and lovely showers. We tried both restaurants during our stay: the bar restaurant is very nice and the food is of a good standard, Browns restaurant is also very nice and the food is of a high standard, well done to all the chefs for providing such lovely meals! The swimming pool and jacuzzi are very good, it was nice to have a jacuzzi that was lovely and warm, so relaxing. The various thermal rooms were also very good. Me & my husband enjoyed these facilities immensely. The hotel is in lovely grounds with a view of a large lake and golf course, unfortunately neither me or my husband play golf so I can't really comment on the golf course apart from the fact that it looked to be kept in immaculate condition. Finally, the staff, what can I say, they were so friendly, always giving a smile and asking if you were enjoying your stay. They were all efficient and polite, going the extra mile to ensure your stay was an enjoyable one. Many thanks to them all for making our stay such an enjoyable one!

Location, location, location is the key. Right in the heart of Chester with easy access to the Cathedral, the Castle, the race track and the town hall. The continental breakfast included in the tariff was excellent. Overall a great experience.

Managed to get lost and telephoned to say would be late arriving and was first told that it was not a hotel but a B & B and the front door was locked at 9.30pm. However they agreed to leave a key for us in the key safe. Two elderly ladies, we struggled to open the key safe in the dark and were saved by another couple who arrived with their key and let us in. Our room had been left unlocked and we were able to get inside. We were quite worried until other couple arrived. All in all not a bad place to stop if you want a large B & B, breakfast adequate but nothing special as was room. Bathroom was not so good as shower was not easy to use.

The Chester Court Hotel gives a very good first impression and it carries on from there. The place has a splendid friendly atmosphere partly due to the welcoming staff and then the hotel itself. We where given a chalet in a block alongside the main building so we had our own front door and parked our car just twenty yards away. It was good not to have to negotiate stairs as we had in the other hotels we had stayed in on our little tour of England. The room was very large and the adjoining bathroom also a good size and well appointed. The furnishings in the bedroom were modern and fresh and the lighting well placed. Our breakfast in the large conservatory off the main building was very good.
In all truth I couldn,t understand why the hotel has only a two star rating. My last years of work before retiring was at a five star hotel and I must say the standards of the Chester Court Hotel was much higher than expected.
