“Comfortable, clean, very quiet room.”
I read some bad reviews after I had booked and was a little worried but it was a great stay. Very quiet. Clean. Friendly staff. Everything worked. Will stay there again when we visit Carowinds.
“Very good and close to Carowinds”
Hotel was very clean and quiet and easy acess to carowinds.Nice large refridgator.for the money. should be rated higher.Only thing could improve would be longer hours on breakfast times.good price for what you get

Motel 8 was a very clean, comfortable place to stay. I would reccomend staying there.
“Hotel for the Morningstar conferences”
Overall hotel was excellent for the price. The room was clean, plenty of towels and a friendly reception. Maintence on top of things and very nice too. Very convenient if you are going to the be in the Charlotte area, Carrowinds, Morningstar Heritage Place or just want to stay in an intermediate place between NC and SC borders. Gas station in the corner and 5 places to eat close by. Thanks again, LIZ
“Very Nice and Economical”
Everything was very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was not good. Consisted of glazed donuts which were cold as if just from the refrigerator, orange juice and coffee. Other than that our stay was fine.
“Nice for the Price”
The hotel is great for the price. If you are not staying for a long period of time it is a great value. It was a nice place to stay after a long day at the Amusement Park.
“Location was great”
Location was the reason I chose this motel. Worked the Quail Hollow Golf Tournament and the proximity to parking at Carowinds and Ballantyne were within 5 minutes. Room was clean and that's basically all that I was able to use. Had no time to use any amenities. Overall stay was satisfactory.
“Excellent manager.”
Expedia.com messed up my reservations so I didn't have a room waiting. Had to settle for double beds instead of king. I had the expedia paperwork with me to assure my truth and price. The Manager took care of it immediately. The only two drawbacks to this hotel is the 3 mile drive to good restaurants and the train track on the west side. Fortunately the last train with whistle was at 10:30pm so we got a good nite's sleep.
“Not too impressed”
The only problem I had with the my room was the air conditioner was not working properly. There were not enough towels for everyone and we had railroad tracks right outside our window. Thank God the railword workers were courteous and made as little noise as possible. We had gotten to our room a little earlier than the 2:00 check in time and the woman working the desk was a little put out that we dared to show up too soon.
“An Inexpensive Place to Sleep”
We only needed the room as an inexpensive place to catch some sleep for a few hours. The Service person in the lobby was very friendly and helpful in finding us a nearby Walmart and Target, but his English was a bit hard to understand. The toilet ran constantly, so we had to turn it off while we slept. It was fairly noisy from other guest rooms, and the beds and pillows were well used. The room was "mostly" clean, but the heat/air unit was full of dust which we are allergic to. All in all we got what we paid for. I have paid a lot more for a lot worse!! This hotel is only a mile from a major amusement park which is what we wanted for Halloween late hours fun.
