DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!
This place was infested with cockroaches. I didn't even spend 1 night there. It was terrible. There was a cockroach on the pillow! They wouldn't refund my money either. I don't know who would give this place any stars because I would rate it negative 5 stars. Save yourself the time, money, and aggrivation don't book this hotel.

Comfortable place to stay
The rooms were clean and comfortable and maintained well. Some of the neighbors were inconsiderate when letting their kids run around late at night unsupervised but it generally calmed down by 10pm or so.

We pulled in the parking lot, with a massive open gate, with a sign that stated, Do Not Leave Valuebles in your car. There was NO Lobby or check in desk, it appeared to be getting a remodel. So check-in was at the closest room, with the window open. Which was also serving as the Vending machine room. Nerving.. Then, I noticed no refund, which pretty much ment we were stuck. I noticed several people walking around at that time. Going to our room there was Kids running around, people standing around. People sitting in their room doorway. One person had a large hamper on their shoulder carrying it to the laundry area. This led me to believe, these people were living here. Luckily, we didn't plan on staying in the room long. Outside the room, the curtain appeared to have been shot with a shot gun. It had a bunch of holes in it. Going into the room, I actually was surprised. It didn't look so bad.. It appeared to have a fresh coat of paint, on the walls and ceiling. The bathroom & washroom appeared to have been updated. However, it appeared the flooring in those areas, was actually for bathroom walls. The room DID NOT look like the pictures. The floor was not level in the room, and the drawers on the dresser kept sliding out because of this. The room was CLEAN. Comfy Bed. There was noise all night. Cars coming & going. People talking. Kids running around in the parking lot unattended. Was afraid to back out. One staff member, while was fine to us, would NOT be acceptable to most

Needs to be updated. No breakfast at all first day. Second day only a muffin and juice. Couldn't really count as breakfast. Carpet very old. As were towels. Needed a good cleaning!

Good value for the price
This hotel was near the bottom end of the price range for brand name hotels. I was a bit concerned at booking but it turns out that it was in a very decent area - near the interstate - with other surrounding, recognizable/reputable businesses near by. All the cars in the parking lot were reasonably nice cars in seemingly good condition. The room was clean - I pulled back the mattress cover to look for bed bugs and the mattresses were clean and in good condition. I did see a small roach but as clean as we are, we've seen a few roaches in our home. The night and day hotel staff were very courteous and professional But the most impressive thing, we left our Kindle in the room when we checked out- it was not locked and could have been easily used/sold. I called the next day and it was up at the front desk. I immediately sent them a stamped, addressed priority mail box and we had our Kindle back in 4 business days. That says alot about the cleaning staff and management

Conveniently located near interstate 95.
Overall stay was OK since we only had stayed for 12 hours , room was newly renovated , but the quilt/comforter was not washed and changed it had sweaty smell, luckly I had my own quilt in the car so I used that, if you want to stay there , eat and shop before 10pm because all the restaurants and shops closed @10pm due to the not so goodneighbor hood, only fast food restaurant we found open was burgerking drivethru.

I arrived at the hotel late evening, was eventually greater by a nice gentlemen who checked me into my room. When I went to my room, I unloaded my vehicle and started to get comfortable. After twenty minutes I turned on the a/c, then there was a foul smell that began come from the a/c. Thinking maybe it was the humidity I allowed it to run for a while longer. I then turned it off and waited about 30 minutes before turning it on again, no luck. Unfortunately for me it was the smell of urine that was covering my room. No other choice, I had to sleep without a/c. It wasn't until checkout time did the staff tell me they were 24hrs. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE!!!

Not a bad place for the price!
Room was old but clean. Looks like new carpet, paint ect. Plenty of security cheap price! Can't complain. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in town.

NIGHTMARE
We have NEVER checked in and out of a hotel so fast! The picture is deceiving!! There is a fence and gate around the property! 1st room that we got a key to was wide open and looked occupied. 2nd room walked into was greeted by a bug. Shady looking people all around!! Car pulled in lot with stereo blaring and booming!! Did not feel SAFE at all!! No frig or micro in room as stated!! BAD-BAD-BAD!!!

This hotel was in rough shape to say the least! The staff was far from friendly and the location is in an area that doesnt appear to be the safest. I asked for a more blankets and a ice bowl and you would have thought i ask them for there social security number. Do yourself a favor and pull out a extra 10 bucks and stay somewhere far better!

good price inexpensive stay. good location for public transportation. only orange drink (not juice), muffins & coffee for breakfast. Hotel is extended stay place. Just mind your business & lock your door & you will be fine. Highly monitored property by front desk with over 40 cameras in the ofc. Due tool this & their strict policies on visitors, we felt safe. But area could be questionable.

The room that i had selected on line was not available when i checked in. The man at front desk was rude and not at all helpful in resolving a solution. Overall got what i paid for but was dissatisfied in overall stay.

Everyone Was Super Nice
We enjoyed our stay at Knight's Inn, You get what you pay for. We weren't expecting top notch amenities, but we definitely received our money's worth. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. I would recommend Knights Inn to someone on a budget.

perfect honeymoon resort
I stayed for two weeks for my honeymoon. I was empressed with the pool running the lenth of the resort. The ocean front view can't be beat. As for the mirrors on the celing and the rotating bed, I miss it already..

I don't know who these people are that leave good reviews for this hotel. It was old and dirty. The bed was awful and the bathroom was in need of serious repair. I left the air condition on when I left out in the morning and when I returned the air was off (I guess they were trying to conserve electricity) and the room was so hot. Funny thing is they didn't even clean my room while they were in there. I needed a inexpensive place to stay while I was on a short trip to Charlotte and the price was cheap so I guess it's true you get what you pay for. I would suggest putting a little more money towards someplace else!

You get what you pay for . . .
The shower wand had a hole in the hose that sprayed water all over you and the floor the minute you turned on the shower. You had to position the shower curtain just right in order to avoid a mess. The bathtub was not clean, the handrail had soap scum dripping off the underside of it and there were hairs along the edge of the tub. One of the nightstands had been sprayed with cleaning solution and only half of it wiped down. When we arrived, the love seat was pushed up against the air conditioner. I moved it over to turn it on and the air conditioner rattled the whole wall. Once you moved the couch against it the noise calmed down to a mild roaring. The room also did not have the iron / ironing board, hair dryer or coffee pot that was stated in the listing. There was alot of pedestrian traffic and loitering on the corner close to our hotel and it made the area feel unsafe. We will not be returning to this hotel.

I was in a conference most of the day and evening so I didn't have to spend a lot of time at the hotel, which was a good thing. It was older and in need of updating but te rate was good since I didn't want to spend a lot of money.

Live like a knight
I was greeted by a nice lady or man. The lobby also doubles as a convient store. There was a television in use in the lobby but mine was just static. The staff looks like the cast from the hills have eyes. There is a ice machine but no fridge in the room. The roofing seemed suitible enough for a category 4 hurricanne. The room door shut properly. The curtians were in place. The carpet was dry. There was a strong smell of lysol. The ceiling over the bathroom was push up tile. Not good if someone goes in the attic with access to all the rooms. Have you seen the movie vacancy? watch it while you stay here.

My family and I had 8 total rooms. One set of our guests arrived at the hotel a night early. They had to switch rooms twice. Once they got the third room it was ok. When we arrived the rooms were ok, my room's floor needed to be cleaned. The room smelled like the carpet was not cleaned. The bathroom needs some updating,on the website it said we would have a microwave and refrigerator in each room , we did not. When we asked for one we were told we had to use the one in the lobby. The ice machine only gave one bucket of ice, but for the most part we got what we paid for. After reading all the bad reviews (after we paid in advance), I was scared to come to the hotel.The rooms that we got werent as bad as I thought they would be. I would only recommend you stay here one night if you had no where else to go, or if your funds are low.

I would not stay here again.
We asked for a non-smoking room and they gave us a "non-smoking" room that smelled like cigarettes and had an ash tray on the table. When we asked for a different room, they said that was their last room, but we noticed the rooms next to ours were empty. All of our stuff smelled like cigarettes by the end of our stay.

I enjoyed my stay here and it was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at except for 5 star hotels, beats other hotels with higher star ratings. the room was nice, stylish, cozy, nice furniture not the usual standard, except no microwave or coffee maker/coffee perfect, did have mini fridge which is enough for me, all the cable channels on the tv, whoever designed the rooms really went out of there way. The other reviewers giving bad ratings to the hotel because of the area, the area is not that bad...where the hotel is it's more a working class area with middle and lower income housing, a couple of office buildings, chain restaurants, super market and chain pharmacy down the road. If you go further than two or three miles the area starts to get poorer with low income gov't housing, pawn shops, etc., but unless you're visiting someone on Nations Ford Rd there's nothing to do there and the attractions provided by Charlotte or in South Carolina are minutes away, the I-77 on/off ramp is right around the corner but not so close to where the highway would keep you up at night. Still I would not go walking outside the hotel gates after dark, though I did not see anything except some teenagers both male and female who looked more like bored kids on summer break...by vehicle you're fine, the I-77 on ramp is right there, an inexpensive and nice hotel to stay in Charlotte I highly recommend Knights Inn Carowinds Coliseum.

Better than expected after reading the reveiws!!
I don't understand all the bad reviews.... It is not a 5 * hotel, but that is not what we expected. For a 2* it was wonderful. The staff was very curtious, yes they spoke another language, but someone always told me what they were talking about. They were very thoughtful. THe room was very nice, all the appliances were in good condition. There were no bars on the windows, it is just a painted on decoration.... Bedding was beautiful, bathroom was very clean, towels were nice and white, toilet very clean. The only thing we saw was the carpet was a little sticky in spots, but what are slippers for??? I think it was from the cleaner they use, so don't hold that against this very nice quiet Inn. And no, there were not any people hanging outside our room, and we were there on a Saturday night. We will use this Inn again when we will be in town on business. Thank you Knights Inn for a nice stay.

This was a good, basic hotel with a hot shower, a fridge, comfortable bed, and plenty of room for one person. It lacked a coffee pot in the room and there were smudges on the bathroom door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and let me use their can opener! The free internet hookup worked instantaneously.

The motel appeared fairly clean, however I left with many bug bites. I had none when I went to sleep and woke up with many. I brought it up to the front desk staff and they were somewhat helpful but didn't offer to do anything other than tell the "boss". I am sure he didn't have much else to offer without consulting the "boss" first so I don't really blame him. I called the owner's cell phone and he did return my call after supposedly looking over the room but I was disappointed in his lack of concern or effort to remedy the situation. I guess you get what you pay for, and given that I paid very little for the room, it was not worth making a big deal over it.

You get what you pay for!!
The room was dirty! There was blood splatter on the ceiling. The television has a very bad signal/picture. The couch was stained. On the plus side, the sheets were clean. The water was VERY hot. The wifi signal was great. And the price was extremely good. If you just need a place to lay your head for one night, then this is an okay option. But if you need more than a single night, spend a little extra for a different hotel.
