Location: Our family was there for Parents Day at The Citadel.
Carole was excellent with initial calls, a second call prior to arrival, and on our arrival night. She was successful in getting us connecting rooms. The desk person who helped me on the 12th was quite cheerful and helpful, even tho' not as experienced. She recommended a place for Sunday brunch. The rooms were adequate and clean. Not luxurious, but as expected. Early breakfast was satisfactory. The ladies cleaning up Sunday morning kept most of the carts bunched together in the first part or the 1st floor hall, a little bit obstructive, but maybe unavoidable. They did a whole lot of talking and visiting among themselves.

Never take a smokers room

Posted 14-Oct-2014
Cons: They need to find some way to clean those smokers rooms. We were very surprised at how strong the smell was.
We have stayed there many times but in non-smokers room. This time we had to take a smokers room and the smell was strong and very unpleasant. Over all the room was ok, loved the shower, and the breakfast was ok. We aren't big breakfast people so it might need some improvement for those expecting a big breakfast. When we got home every piece of clothing smelled very strong of smoke and had to be washed even though some of our cloths were not worn while in Charleston. Our baggage is still sitting on our screen porch airing it out to get the smell out. We'll stay there again, price was great compared to other places, but we'll never take another smokers room.

Room wasn't clean when we checked.

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: No smoking rooms, would help with the odor. New carpet is badly needed.
Location: Shopping, USS Yorktown, Ft. Sumter, close in to market place and old charleston.
Had to ask the front desk to have someone vac the room. That was the only time that it was vacuumed during our stay. Carpet looked very old and worn out. Noise in the bath ceiling fan every time it rained. Second floor smelled like smoking lounge. Great location, but will not stay there again

Could have been better

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: The front desk was very kind. The breakfast was great.
My first room had a very strong mold/mildew smell. The carpet below the a/c unit was soaked - I imagine this caused the odor. Once I asked to move, the staff was very accomodating. She put me into another room, but this room had poor lighting. The light above the sink was nearly out, and two others would not function. The cleaning staff must have noticed these two issues and disregarded their upkeep. There would be no way to not notice this.

Not their fault I guess, but cable TV was out. At bedtime, sat on the edge of the turned-down bed and there was a spider..... The breakfast as pretty good.
