“Will make it my hotel of choice in Charleston”

I will tried to stay at this hotel anytime I an in Charleston. It was recommended to me and I loved the hotel and the central location. I was able to walk to my appointments, to great restaurants and see all the sights. Great location and very helpful and friendly hotel staff. I received several wonderful recommendations for food as well as must see sights. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Charleston and can not wait to go back.

“Best Centralized Location in Downtown Charleston”

With the exception of the EXTREMELY slow valet and bellman service, we were highly pleased with the location, cleanliness, and luxourious comfort of this hotel. We recently stayed at the Francis Marion (on upper King St./Calhoun St.) and had a far walk to all of the restaurants, the Market, etc... This hotel is perfectly centralized to make walking an easy task down the beautiful streets of historic Charleston. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The pool was very clean and well-kept. The rooms are fully equipped with lots of light, mirrors, and a beautiful view. Without a doubt, this is where we will stay the next time we go to Charleston!!

“Nice neighborhood”

Hotel was nice. It has a great location. The rooms are on the smallish side. The breakfast was very good. And the few extra dollars of valet parking was worth it.

“Wonderful Staff”

Mills House is an old hotel in Charleston's Historic District; it that has been carefully maintained and is staffed with personable people who are helpful and attentive. Even when things got busy, the front desk and the valet guys worked to expedite everyone. They were well staffed and everyone worked hard to address needs. Service like that makes the customers feel appreciated and valued, not just an interruption. The staff really make the experience special. I would not even think of staying elsewhere in Charleston after my experience at Mills House.

“The Best of Charleston - Loved It!”

I chose the Mills House because it had good reviews, a great location, and a price that was higher than budget hotels but lower than hotels that appeared to be similar in style. This was my first trip to Charleston, and I'd return in a heartbeat based on my experience at the Mills House. As soon as I pulled up to the front door, a smiling bellman named Clarence welcomed me, my wife and our two children, helping us get our things into the hotel and right up to our room. Clarence has been with the Mills House for 38 years, and you probably won't find anyone more friendly or knowledgeable about the hotel and Charleston anywhere in the city. The room was small, but very clean and decorated nicely. The room had two full-size beds, which were smaller than what I'm used to but still quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well-lit, and my wife really liked the Bath & Body Works toiletries that were supplied. The room also had a small desk, and a dresser and TV hutch unit. The pool area was outstanding, with plenty of seating and no overcrowding. We used it twice during our stay. We also ate breakfast at the Barbadoes Room, the hotel restaurant. It was priced fairly and the service was very good. Although the hotel is affiliated with the Holiday Inn chain, the Mills House is unique and so much better than any Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at. We plan to return to Charleston at some point, and will be sure to stay at the Mills House again. It's terrific.

“Beautiful hotel central to historic district.”

The Mills House is the premier hotel in Charleston. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant serves some of the best food in town. The hotel is central to the Charleston Historic District. I love The Mills House, and I stay there every chance that I have.
