Staff is very nice. Hotel located outside of downtown, surrounded by high ways. Not able to walk to anyplace. But if you drive a car, it is convenient for you. There is a shuttle to downtown, but unfamiliar, drive had emerged, we waited for 30 mins passed pick up times, found out that no shuttle that time.

The pros to this property include a friendly and helpful staff, the downtown shuttle service being so convenient, the comfortable bed, and room cleanliness. Cons include thin walls where we could clearly hear people in the hallway and the room next door and the shower had little pressure and no hot water about half the time we used it.

This is a classic hotel with a beautiful view of the ocean, inlets, & greenery. If the noise from traffic was lessened this would be near perfect. We were on the 9th floor and it was awful until late night snd started up early am.

The staff was phenomenal, the rooms need a renovation but the professionalism from staff made up for it. The one elevator working didn’t even bother me because staff was so accommodating.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious, definitively run down and only one elevator working in such a big hotel. Also Jo in the bar area was real good at suggesting wine for you to order during happy hour, of course she failed to tell us it was not part of the discounted wine. Not happy abou that at all, very rude.

This property is so old and it shows. The room’s wall was crumbling, the towel rack was totally rusted which caused rust on towels. The bathroom light would go out at random times. There was only one elevator working which would close on you if you were trying to load on after a group came off. It was not worth the money at all.

Property due for upgrade and it is clear that they are not doing any upkeep. One elevator (out of two) broken. Broken luggage carts. Shuttle didn't run Friday evening to downtown Charleston. Staff (except for shuttle drivers) was uninterested.

It was the closest hotel to the people I was visiting on James Island. The interior walls and floors were tired; there was no sound insulation between rooms; my room had a dripping shower ceiling, lumpy pillows (no soft one available), and the door had to be yanked to close, as it wasn’t aligned correctly to the door frame.

Tired looking facility in need of updates. No ice in any ice machines; only one elevator was in service, making for long delays getting anywhere (we were on the 9th floor); our room door wouldn’t open despite numerous key exchanges; heat would not work. Maintenance man was very prompt to arrive and fix the heat, but could not fix the door (no parts available). On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view.

The shuttle was a great surprise we learned after arriving. The only negative is the TV in the room had no directions on how to use it. Had to call the front desk.

During our three night stay, we never had hot water for showers. The water we did have barely trickled out of the shower head. It was difficult to even wash the shampoo out of my hair. We nicely reported the lack of hot water to the front desk, and she responded, “I’ll look into it.” That was it. The floors were sticky, and we had to immediately put on socks after getting out of the shower, keeping them on at all times to avoid sticking to the floor. Out of the two available elevators, only one worked. The “working” elevator took forever, constantly bumping, rattling, and shaking. The “balcony”, advertised on their description, was unable to access due to being bolted shut. There was no water in the pool, also advertised on the description. We spoke with multiple employees at the desk in regard to no hot water, but the issue was never resolved. Taking a cold shower isn’t fun, but when it’s already in the 40s at night, and adding no water pressure and trickling shower head, the elongated shower to get the shampoo out of your hair is even more miserable. I’ve never written a review at all, much less a negative review, but when spending almost $800.00 for a three night stay for our 25th anniversary, I don’t want others to make the same mistake we did.

Best riverview ever. We were on the 9th floor and could be in our bed and watch the water and the bridge traffic. Beautiful at night. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is an older hotel but very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location and views .. however, the highway noise was loud and the hotel was very dated. Rooms were small in size. Restaurant at the top had a pretty limited selection and wasn’t the cleanest - however, the staff at all levels was helpful and friendly.

Staff at the front door seemed irritated. Parking lot seems a bit disheveled and the room needs some serious attention. Wall-mounted AC unit is falling off with black dust in between the cracks of the wall and the unit. Room feels damp and has a damp smell. The restaurant looks nice though.

We stayed primarily because it had a restaraunt that was open until 9pm. We waited at the desk with another couple for roughly 20 minutes and were never acknowledged. The hotel itself was clean with a great view and the desk clerk was very friendly.
