Our back room with a large tub was really neat, with brick walls and maybe old coal chutes in the wall at the back; the rest was really rough. The carpet was stained & coming up, couch was really old and smashed down from people standing on it to try to look out the window (only narrow, high up windows in the room), door and walls dirty, all areas just really need refreshed and restored. I wanted historical but this was just not taken care of. Breakfast was good, helpful desk staff.

My only negative is that the property was very dated. A lot pay for a room that appears outdated and worn. However, the room was very clean. Polite staff and convenient to many activities.

This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Carpet worn out, elevator making weird noises and worn. Front desk staff seemed to be inconvenienced that I had problems with my toilet, wouldn't flush properly, they never smiled nor seemed ready to help. I would not stay there again.

A little shabby with years of wear. Wonderful overall stay. 24 hour access to exercise equipment was a help to me. However, because I'm not a 6' male (5'3" only) the equipment was too large. Rooms would benefit from towel bars and mirrors that are lower. Loved the iron and board when needed. Would have appreciated a full-length mirror. Bed was great!

The staff was professional, yet outstanding! There was definitely service with a smile from every staff member I encountered. There are some cosmetic things that need to be made like any other older building. The location was wonderful, staying there placed us in the midst of lots of restaurants and shops. More imagination is needed with hors d'oeuvres that accompany the complimentary drinks. Stale pretzels and baked fish snacks mixed with fresh ones. The deviled egg filling in a bowl with no crackers or egg white with a little paprika! Baby plates made it difficult to place carrots and celery on them with ranch dressing without spilling. (Just some suggestions, presentation goes a long way) The only problem we experienced was the lack of air conditioning, which made our night's sleep torturous. I hope my review helps to elevate things that have been overlooked. Thanks Embassy Suites for hiring those extraordinary staff members, they made the stay worthwhile!

The property was not as clean as I would have expected. There was construction outside the bedroom window and they were beating and banging on that wall to where you couldn’t sleep. Neither tv worked. Said no signal. Maintenance couldn’t fix. It rained on Saturday and there was water pouring all through the building. Worst experience I have had staying anywhere.

The entire place needs complete remodeling, stains all over carpets and furniture, moldy, dirty, and smelly; for $380 per night, it wasn't worth it.

Great location, easy for walking to downtown. Price is reasonable, some areas of the hotel are looking worn, for example carpet at side door, wallpaper peeling in bathroom. The staff are friendly & you can’t beat the managers reception & included breakfast!

Very comfortable. Wonderful staff. Great restaurants within walking distance. Walked to the Aquariam and Ft Sumpter ferry in 15 minutes. King Street is just 2 blocks away.

I love Embassy Suites but this one needs some upkeep in the rooms. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom all the furniture looks to be about at least 20 yrs old. Great location and Beds were very comfortable which is why I gave it 2 stars. Managers hr was out of draft beer so no beer. You get 2 tickets per person w little selection. Breakfast was unorganized and they ran out of a lot of basic stuff.

The hotel is pretty old and needs updating. The sofa bed was dirty and the mattress soiled. We had to request a new mattress. The staff was great and the breakfast was good.

The hotel location is great and very walkable to restaurants and shopping. The staff are amazing from valet, front desk, housekeeping to food and beverage service. The hotel could use a refresh on carpet, paint, bathrooms - it has some wear. But a great place to lay your head. Lots of families and dogs were there when we stayed - all well behaved.
