“conveniently placed”

This was a nice friendly and more than adequate hotel. The rooms were very clean. We did not try the restaurant but preferred to have breakfast at one of the many cafes on the harbour front. It was tucked away in a quiet location but very handy for the harbour, the cafes and shops. You can get buses to and from the airport but taxis are cheap and you'll need one on a Sunday.

“Ideal short break hotel”

We were delighted with the St Nicolas: the staff were friendly and very efficient, both front of house and chamber staff. Location was ideal, in an historic and picturesque quarter, very close to the main harbour but much quieter and more civilized than the absolute centre - we are of advancing years and do not like long walks between hotel and attractions, and it suited us perfectly. Decor was modern and attractive; room very quiet thanks to excellent double glazing and quiet yet effective air con. Room and bathroom were kept spotless. Both were small, but bed was a large double and comfortable. Nice breakfasts and lounge area with free internet via two computer terminals and free newspapers. Staff were very helpful and understanding when we sufferd an unfortunate medical emergency .

“Très bon hôtel pour un séjour à La Rochelle”

Nous avons séjourné dans cette hôtel pour une courte halte sur le chemin des vacances. Ca a été extrêmement agréable. Très belle salle de petit déjeuner. Le port à 2 pas (même plutôt 1 pas).

Booked based on previous review comments and was not disappointed. Pleasant helpfull welcome. Good room. Nice public areas. Great location with easy short walk to harbour areas. Good breakfast buffet. I would recommend this place to anyone. Don't be fooled by the star rating. This place was a great find.

“Situation parfaite”

Cet hotel est parfait à tout point de vue : confort, propreté, services, ... Juste l'acceuil (très pro) nous a parue un peu froid mais étant du sud nous sommes habitués à plus de chaleur.

Hotel de bon confort dans sa catégorie ,en cours de rénovation (nous étions dans une chambre rénovée) nous étions à 3 dans une chambre moyennant un petit supplément proche du centre ,service sympathique sans aucun problème je le recommande

Nous avons passé 4 jours à 5 adultes pour Noel 2009. Nous avons apprécié, l'accueil chaleureux du personnel, les chambres agréables bien qu'un peu petites, la véranda de la salle du petit déjeuner, le parking privatif à l'intérieur des murs, la situation à 2 pas du port et du centre ville, la place piétonne devant l'hotel. Nous reviendrons.
