Mycket bra service och trevlig personal. Vi stannade 2 dagar och personalen var trevlig direkt och kände igen oss. Mycket bra restaurang också med bra service och god mat.

Friendly staff, hotel has pool, great onsite restaurant, and rooms have a nice side view of the mountains and sea. Unfortunately the beds were hard as a rock. Waking up in pain every day puts a damper on the experience. The breakfast has loads of options and the dinner restaurant is fantastic. There is only 1 vegan option, so I wouldn’t recommend the half board to vegans, maybe vegetarians, and definitely to omnivores.

Thank you also for recommending our breakfast buffet and evening dinners at Theodosi restaurant! Sorry to hear about the issue you had with the beds. We do have some top mattresses for guests looking for something softer, just ask reception and they will be happy to accommodate.

The hotel was better than the photos. The room was large enough for us and a 1 year old, the breakfast had a lot of variety, the restaurant was very good and convenient as we arrived late and tired. It is a walkable distance to town & several beaches for us! The staff was outstanding in all aspects! My only regret is not have booked half-board to include dinner!

This is a wonderful friendly family hotel where Theo and his staff work hard to ensure guests have a unique experience. Food in the restaurant is lovely. Rooms are very clean and there are many repeat customers like me, which is testament to how high standards are here.

Very relaxing and friendly staff
The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The room was cleaned daily. We had a peaceful time and ate at the restaurant on two evenings. Both times the food was amazing. We enjoyed meeting the rest of our family for breakfast which was very relaxed. They even made us a packed breakfast when we had an early morning start. The bathroom could do with some adjustments as there was no shelf to put toiletries etc and the shower curtain was a bit annoying but otherwise for the price of our stay we thought it was fair and would definitely come back. We had a car so easy to get around but our friends walked to beaches and to Venetian harbour and to the old town and a taxi back cost them 6 euros

The staff were friendly and very helpful,The room was clean, had a safety box and a small fridge. It has a nice furnished sunny balcony. We were offered a kettle, a hairdryer and extra towels for the pool (the pool was lovely) the bathroom was tiny and a bit of a squeeze to use the toilet. The food was excellent. While the hotel was spotless the area around and the walk down to the beach had a lot of litter.

What a find!
For someone who researches every single aspect of a place when booking a hotel, this was an amazing find. Every single person we came into contact with were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. I think we had THE best room (205) with amazing views. The room was basic but comfortable, with a fridge and a kettle. The shower was a standard Greece cubicle with shower curtain. The beds were a little too hard for me but my partner liked them (he says I'm like Goldilocks and it's hard to please me with bed softness). The location was fine for us,around a 25 minute walk to the centre and 10 minutes to the beach. The path can be a little slippery down a hill, so perhaps take sturdy walking shoes. The beach/pool towels were a nice touch plus other things such as being able to have boarding passes printed out and the use of an iron/hairdryer for free. The breakfast was lovely, with different selections every day and a pancake maker. We didn't use the pool as it was too cold, but we did sunbathe for a few hours around it and it was a nice area to relax. The only negative to our stay was a group of other guests who were staying in adjacent rooms, they were noisy and inconsiderate, however that wasn't the fault of the hotel. I would stay here again if we I was to come back, without without the children.

Fab restaurant
Usual thing with some Greek Hotels is the lack of morning hot water. Other than that the reception service was very good, the place was clean and the restaurant exceptional at dinner. Breakfast was a bit disappointing given the standard of dinner but for the price ....

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast which was included was excellent. The restaurant also served delicious food. It was only a 10 minute bus drive into Chania and a taxi back was 6 Euros.

Nice quiet hotel on the edge of town
We wanted a small hotel in a quiet location but within walking distance of Chania. As we are keen walkers, we favoured the route along the coast which took 15 to 20 minutes. First you have to descend by a path over scrub and then make your way over sandy paths to the coast path. You can walk along the shore if you prefer. That local beach was lovely and unspoilt with sand and some shingle. There are two tavernas just after the footbridge. If you want Aptera Beach and beyond, to the west, descend by the path, turn left by the green house and wind through the roads. That beach is busier but quiet at the far end by the rocks where it is good for snorkelling. We preferred the small, older taverna to the right of the car park mainly for drinks. The larger one unfortunately turns on the music in the afternoons, at least in high season. We hired a car for a few days and there are several rental companies in town. The National Road gets you to places quickly but we'd also recommend trips into the mountains.

First-rate 2-star hotel
Everything about this hotel, its friendly and helpful owners, its superb restaurant with modern Cretan cuisine, the simple but impeccably maintained bedrooms, the small but quiet and relaxing swimming pool area, was great. I had a wonderful week there and would happily return tomorrow. Although it is situated up quite a steep hill with limited direct access to the nearest beach, it is very easy to catch a bus for the short ride to both the beaches and the delightful port town of Chania, with its myriad shops, restaurants, bar and Venetian-style harbour.

Owner and Chef in the Alexis Restaurant is genius. Fantastic menu and even better made. Hotel is located in very quiet area out of city centre but it is just couple of minutes to get to the beaches. I can 100% recommend this place for sure.

hotel was good and staff where friendly but just the location was terrible unless you have a car. we were too scared to walk down the dark hills surrounded by bushes at night so wasted alot of money on taxis. if you have a car I recommend this hotel.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED! Good all round, & Nice View
We had tried to book a better rated hotel, but left it too late, But we were very pleased when we arrived here. Nice welcome, Nice well fitted bedroom and En suite ( No penny pinching) like a lot of places Large balcony with nice views of Chania Town, Plus you catch the sunset! Fridge and "Greek only" TV in the room There are treats. Like bowls of sweets ( a Greek thing) Plus toiletries in the room, with sewing kit etc. The SHEETS were changed every day, as well as the towels. Breakfast was pleasant, Again over looking the bay of Chania. WiFi 8/10 ? Ok from the room for most things. Plenty of Parking outside the Hotel. Plus if you must, theres a Lidl 200 meters away. Town is a fairly simple 10 minute drive down to Town ( Including Traffic lights etc ) Airport is about 10 minutes aswell, Having driven around Chania quite a lot, I'd say this location is pretty much as good as it gets, If you are driving.

Great accomodation, clean hotel with fantastic staff. Short and easy 10min bus ride into town or a 10min walk down to the beach. Theo sand his family were great hosts who were welcoming and friendly ensuring you felt at home whitest staying with them. Nice hotel with amazing staff close to the beach
My friend and I stayed here for five nights and didn't want to leave! Our room was nice and had a lovely sea view and it's only about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. We also loved the restaurant and ate there every night. It's super reasonably priced and the food is amazing! Theo made our experience so great and made us feel right at home. He answered any questions we had and helped book an excursion to Elafonissi. Stay here!

Good Value Hotel
Hotel Alexis is located in a good neighborhood outside of Chania. It has good parking facilities and a nice view of the area. The room is basic but adequate. The wifi worked well, and a computer is also available.

Great service and stay
Overall, Alexis hotel is a great stay and super value. Theo was wonderful at check-in giving me overview of the city and a map of key sights. He also set up a bus ride for my hike to the Samaria Gorge the next day. The hotel is nice and the breakfast buffet was a delicious surprise. It is a bit of a walk into the old town. Also, the restaurant is very good with reasonable prices.

Theo, his wife, sister and staff were great. I didn't like Chania much. We could walk to a pleasant beach with sunbeds and umbrellas but it was all uphill on the way back. There is a bus stop close by that will take you to other villages or into Chania. The accommodation is good value for money. If you are a light sleeper the barking dogs could be a problem. They bark every night, not for long, but on and off all night. We did not sleep well. There is a restaurant on-site for evening meals, and the included breakfast is adequate for the price. The shower is small, but all the showers are small in Greece. Good value for money.

Sorry to hear that you did not like Chania much! The great thing about being on a hill top is that you get to see wonderful views of the sea and city from above. The not so good, is the hills you have to walk up and down; but at the same time when on holiday, its nice to walk around and explore! Glad you felt you got value for your money at Alexis hotel.

It wasn't a great experience
The hotels staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. However, there was a very bad smell in the room. The room door doesn't lock so it made us feel a little bit unsecured especially after someone opened the door on us randomly. The bathroom definitely needs major refurbishments. Other than that The hotel is very close to the centre of the city and the beach is about 20 minutes walk. It was very cheap as well.

The family running the place was very friendly and helpful. And the hotel food was excellent and cooked by the owner himself. The room was comfortable and the hotel is located with a nice and pleasant view. Near a bus stop and a close distance to the city centre.

Convenient Location - Amazing Food
My Girlfriend and I stayed here May 2014 and had a fantastic time. The rooms were basic but not in a bad way, they had everything we needed for our stay and were comfortable. The balcony had a side facing sea view and had the sun on it all day. Location was actually quite convenient considering it's not in the old town. Regular buses to town, Beach in easy walking distance and of course the Theodosi Restaurant and Superb staff were the highlight at this Hotel. Definitely staying here if I return to Crete/

Amazing staff worth everything
Had a great stay at this hotel. Theo, the owner, was an excellent host and very accommodating. Our flight didn't arrive until almost midnight, so we contacted him ahead of time to see if we could check in very late. He was quick to respond, and more than willing to accommodate us. The hotel was nice, rooms decent, and location decent. The staff and food were excellent. The hotel is outside the main part of the city, and on top of a hill. Minus the hill, it is an easy 20 minute walk to the center. Their are beaches close by as well, as long as you don't mind taking the path down the hill and back up it. The rooms were OK, nothing fancy but more than enough for a place to sleep. The beds were firm, which were fine for us. The best part of the stay was the excellent breakfasts and dinner, and of course Theo. He was extremely friendly, and that goes a long way when traveling. Thank you! Great value, great staff
Lovely time thanks to Theo and his great team, food and service from Emmanuel and breakfast staff was superb, housekeeping was excellent, room basic but very comfortable and good size. Would recommend without hesitation!

A lovely experience
Alexis is a small family run hotel which gives a personal and professional service. Rooms are a good size, comfortable and housekeeping is excellent. Any queries, requests or problems are attended to immediately. Theo and his team create a great athmosphere for their guests. Evening meals are superb, and nothing is too much trouble for Emmanuel. Breakfast is a very pleasant experience with lovely, friendly staff. Great value stay and experience.
