“No frills, older facility & pet friendly”
Okay - as a place that allows dogs, you should be prepared to see scratch marks on the walls and around the door frames from previous 4-legged guests. The staff at the hotel are personable and accommodating. If you're looking for a place to rest your head and get out to enjoy the area - it's not a bad deal. If you're planning on relaxing in your room and you aren't traveling with a pooch - you'd be better off elsewhere. Expectations for housekeeping should be low - think of it as staying at a distant relatives home; we found hair from the housekeeper on the sheets...the bedding was clean, but her hair was in several places. It happens - but is off-putting to some. The owners live at the hotel - so whatever they are preparing for a meal is what greets you when you first walk in the door...our welcome was to a substantial cloud of curry. We were there just to ski and weren't at the hotel much - so, it served our purpose just fine. Had we been there more than to sleep and shower - we wouldn't have stayed.
“run sown hotel needs some help”
We stayed here while visiting the foliage in Vemont. The hotel was run down and in need of some remodeling. Ice machines were both down, so no ice for the whole building. It did have an indoor pool if you have kids. The continental breakfast was the best part...waffle machine, as well as a good selection of muffins, juices and cereal.
“Not impressed”
The hotel staff was nice & friendly. But the room had a dirty coffee pot. The bathroom need to be cleaned better.Would try a different hotel up there next time.
“you get what you pay for”
complaints: 1. Magnetic door keeps twice failed to function in side entrance/room door. Had to walk around to front (in freezing cold carrying ski equipment) to get new keys. 2. meager "business center". PC would not connect to the internet. Staff had to wait until "monday" for the tech guy. 3. Breakfast buffet barely passable. Only hot item was waffle.
“Good deal”
The rooms were comfortable and clean, but somewhat noisy. Breakfast was great. There was a good variety of foods available and lots of it.
“MIGHT MAKE ANOTHER CHOICE”
HOTEL RUN OUT OF OIL SO WE DIDN"T GET HOT SHOWERS UNTIL OIL WAS DELV'D. LIGHT IN BATHROOM NEEDED REPLACEMENT, USED HEAT LIGHT TO SEE.
“January 2012 Stay Over”
Repairs are needed to the rooms. Back of bathroom door was delaminating. Plaster peeling from the bathroom ceiling. It was clean and I wouldn't have minded if it was super cheap. The staff were fine and the room was clean, just worn out and needed a couple hundred dollars in repairs.
“Would not use again”
The staff was very nice. Helpfull, polite, etc., but the overall condition of the hotel was not good. Rooms smelled like stale cigarettes, bathrooms in desperate need of repairs. We had to switch rooms after the 1st night because our AC was not working. Staff more than happy to help out but the second rooms bathroom was worse that the first. There was bad patch job on the tile in shower, holes in ceiling and what looked like mold in the holes, no hair dryer and suspicious looking substance on back of bathroom door. The rest of the room was clean enough, beds comfortable but the bathroom are disgraceful. Would NOT stay there againg.
“Bring your cleaning supplies”
It was a virtual crime scene in the bathroom with a lot of evidence others had stayed there including hair on the tiles and in the corners - It was grotesque. The people up front were fine as was the breakfast - But the cleanliness of the bathroom was god awful.
“Poor conditions”
The hotel is very old. The room was somewhat small. The room might have been clean, but because of everything being so old, it did not appear to be clean. The location is great. The breakfast was okay. The hotel needs to be refurbished and the furniture needs be replaced. I could hear all the noses around - people walking upstairs and the cricking floors. It may be okay for just spending a night if you are tired. People were very friendly.
