“Hidden Gem in the City”
Hidden on a street which, if you get lost, has direction signs along the way to find the hotel. Abundant and delicious breakfast in a charming breakfast room. Wonderful staff. I would recommend this hotel to friends if they want a convenient walking location to all in city center Catania.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. Fabulous building. Better staff. Wasn't necessarily crazy about Catania, but if someone is going to Catania, they couldn't stay at a better hotel.

Il Principe cannot be faulted for its service or its proximity to the heart of Catania. I have no hestitation in recommending this hotel.

“Comfortable and central”
The only problem was the noise from the streets when the bars closed, and again at 6.45 EVERY morning when a local church decided to ring its bells! The hotel was howver very welcoming and we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

“Excellent location and superb service, only a stone throw away from all main attractions”
As you walk in you immediately perceive the superior standard of service at this hotel. Every single member of staff is almost anticipating your needs without being intrusive -something you normally only find in good 5*. The location is the best you can think of, right on the Scalinata Alessi, with a few bars/pubs/restaurants, 1 minute walk from via Etnea, Piazza Universita', Piazza Duomo and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Please note that during week-end the 'scalinata' is quite busy with bars customers drinking and chatting outside. Rooms are well sound proofed though, hence you only slightly notice unless you open the window. Should this bother you, you could always ask for rooms at the back of the building. Great breakfast, with some sicilian specialities and the usual highly professional waiter service. . Although parking is rather restricted, the hotel staff will make sure that you don't even notice it - just leave the keys with them and they will find a parking for you at any time, night and day. Only downside is the lack of wireless internet connection (only available via cable at a fee)and perhaps the rooms could do with LCD TV. I have heard that the hotel is expanding at the back and will incorporate another historical building and a courtyard. Certainly looking forward to this development. Excellent for leisure overall and highly recommended to live the soul of the city. Will definitely go back and recommend.
“An excellent small hotel”
Outstandingly helpful staff, always willing and able to help and give advice and suggestions. We stayed for four nights over Christmas and the hotel found us excellent local restaurants which were very reasonably priced. The location of the hotel could not be better: a short walk from the Duomo. Altogether the hotel provided an excellent experience.
