“Resort-style Hotel a pleasant haven”
We spent 3 nights at the hotel and were delighted by the service and overall condition of the hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. My partner speaks Spanish which did make things much easier, but most of the front of house staff have reasonable English. The room was large and very clean and a good view of the water. A nice surprise was a delicious cake in the room for my partner birthday. The hotel is on the edge of Boca Grande which is not the most interesting of areas and is a contrast to the historic city area. The beaches are very ordinary. The beautiful hotel pool is a nicer alternative to the grey sand and turbulent surf. Breakfast was very good and much better variety compared to other places we stayed in South America. The reception / foyer area is ordinary and needs a major refresh and better lighting. The car drop-off is far too small. Overall though, a good comfortable and clean hotel
“Will stay there each time I go to Cartagena”
Fine. The room was clean, pool clean, TV worked and internet worked. There was hot water and clean towels. Nothing else matters.
“Best vacation I ever had.”
Colombians are probably the warmest most easy going people that exist, I can't wait to return to Cartagena. There are a lot of things that are not as flashy or glamorous as other turistic spots such as Cancun or Cabo but the Colombians make up for it 100 fold from the minute I got on the Avianca flight until I left, it seemd as if nothing could go wrong. Not a cloud in the sky.....One day while snorkleing I lost the money I had taken with me to spend on the beach and a couple paid for my beer and then for the Taxi to get back to the hotel what nice people. One negative thing, I was swarmed by beach vendors, not pleasant but manageable. Viva Colombia!
“Small but Elegant”
I'm used to traveling only in the US and living in the midwest, where spacious living is normal. The rooms were surprisingly small for me. Yet all the amentites and quality of service and personnel were top rate. I do not know what a 3-star hotel has to do to be a higher star hotel, but I believe this hotel has 4-star potential. With a very entertaining Colombian music/dance show on Saturday we were there.
“Very Good Hotel”
During our recent stay at Hotel Caribe Cartagena, my wife and I were delighted with the quality of the Hotel. The rooms are really good, hotel infrastructure is great, the staff is very polite and thoughtful. The only con we found would have to be that the shower in our room was really small. Asides from that, everything was really great.

I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel when traveling to Cartagena. It is not in the old city, but there is good transportation from there. The pool area is great and there are plenty of nice places around to eat.

“A stay to remember...!!”
This was the best stay... fantastic hotel, fantastica staff. the guy from desk was so nice his name is edwin....he actually arranged everything in a restaurant outside the hotel to have a fantastic engagement dinner with my girl...everything was perfect... Even the guy who prepared my wlecome cocktail was very nice and polite. Thanx expedia and edwin for such an amazing stay.
“An Hotel to say WOW!!!”
This hotel is very expensive but I got a good deal with Expedia. After my husband and I arrived our first impression was WOW!!!. The decoration was beautiful and very modern. The room has full service and was very clean. I recommended 100%
“Excellent property, disappointing food”
We recently stayed about a week at the Hotel Caribe, and must say that it's a very nice hotel, with excellent service, great pool area, comfortable rooms, and a nice location right across the street from the beach. On site, you will encounter deer, iguanas, and even some sloths walking around the area, which was quite a treat. My only complaint would be about the food in general, and the buffets in particular.. Breakfast was only so-so, despite it's high price, but the real insult is the price/selection of the dinner buffet. Although the hotel does bring in entertainment for the dinner area, I would have to recommend that diners go elsewhere for dinner, as the money spent on an expensive and bland buffet could be much better used elsewhere in the city. Drinks and beer are also quite expensive at the hotel. All that said, I would still highly recommend the hotel, because the things it did do right -- service, cleanliness, ambiance, and the pool area -- were all excellent. Many people recommended staying directly in the old-city, but I'm glad I made the choice to stay in Boca Grande, at this hotel.
