“Laborday weekend 2010”

we went to Carlsbad Caverns and wanted a place close to the caverns. This was the one with the best reviews. The couple who ran the place were very pleasant and had everything ready, including the AC on in our room making it very comfortible. the room was clean and every time then came in to clean, they left us new towels, replaced soaps and shampoos and made the bed as well as vacumed daily. the room came with a coffee maker and a microwave and a good sized refriegerator. the neighborhood around the hotel is mostly other hotels and there is an amusement park across the street with viedo games and putt putt and race cars for kids.

Was clean even though not the newest of hotels. Friendly staff, enjoyed the breakfast.

“A Good Place To Lay Your Head”

The Only Reason I Picked This Hotel Because It Was On The South Side Of Town, About 15 Miles From Carlsbad Caverns. This Hotel Is In A Good Location, Away From Traffic and All The Busy Streets. Its Just Down The Street From The Local Corner Stores and Its Not Too Far From Downtown. The Hotel Also Has High Speed Internet and An Outdoor Swimming Pool. Hotel Service Was Friendly.

“Good and convenient accomodation”

The hotel room was very nice and clean. I had really nice stay. The breakfast was a litte weird and the room where you can have the breakfast was a bit messy.

“Everything is OK”

Super 8 is supposed to be a bargain, so you can't expect the lap of luxury, but everything was brand new, extremely clean and the personnel was very polite. My biggest complaint was the fact that even on the ground floor there's no way to get to your room without several steps. We're lucky to be hale and hearty, but even so, dragging everything up and down 4 or 5 steps was no picnic and since the parking lot is wide open, we certainly didn't want to leave anything in the car. I think they had one room that was accessible for handicapped people, but the rest of us. Teh morning was difficult, because the electricity went out in the surrounding area, but that was not Super 8's fault.

“Not too bad”

Good things: -Close to the Caverns -Decent breakfast -Coffee pot/ mini fridge in room -Fairly Clean -No bed bugs =] Not so good: -Funky smell in the building -Slow shower drain -Parking lot fairly open, there were signs that said not to leave valuables in car (I wouldn't do that anyways but still kind of scared me to see the signs!). Overall, I would stay here again because it really wasn't that bad and it was really cheap. It wasn't a bad stay for only two nights (of sleeping), you get what you pay for!

Nice motel, okay location and the only problem was slow drain in shower.

“great stopping point after a long day of driving”

we were happy to find this hotel. we typically dont find decent hotels in Carlsbad and were not expecting anything special. this hotel suprised us and we will use this one from now on next time we are in town.

“It's Okay”

The beds were very comfortable, the A/C was great, the amenities were satisfactory, and the noise level was at a minimum. However, torn-out sinks were piled on the ground in back of the hotel, and at least two interior doors in the hallways were extremely warped. Management should pay close attention to the exterior and interior appearance of the hotel, as there are much pickier people out there than this family. As far as a good place to sleep, this hotel was very satisfactory. We slept great, and enjoyed the next day's activities. We will be selective in who we recommend this hotel to.

“Fine for stayiong in Carlsbad”

This property is older but the staff is friendly. The rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast in morning is sufficent to start the day. You can spend more on a property but WHY? This property is fine to see the Carlsbad Caverns. Wouln't normally have picked a Super 8 but all the other hotels are at least $100 more. This property is located across the street from minature gold and go-Karts. Close to chili's, Wall-Mart and Dragon Buffett.
