Dongola was perfect. I was attending some Wedding functions in the area and The Dongola was my oasis. The staff were all extremely helpful and respected the privacy I needed but were there when I needed assistance. I could not recommend highly enough.

Divine Dongola House
We had a fabulous stay at Dongola House. Welcoming friendly hosts, a lovely clean room leading out onto a magnificent garden. And a superb breakfast before departure.

Wonderful people (Sally, Mike, Natalie and co!), attention to detail, beautiful views! The owners, Sally and Mike, have travel and hospitality in their blood. Plenty of tips for local sightseeing, travel and more, from both Mike and Sally... Free upgrades on both our check-ins (yes, we came back for more!). And, trust Mike to serve you the best breakfast in town, topped off with some caviar!! Wonderful to see everyone chipping in to make you feel at home.

Excellent choice for Cape Town leisure
Very obliging and solicitous hosts who let us in very early. Comfortable room and lovely views. Fairly easy to find and good things to do nearby, as well as being well-placed for trips around the Cape and Cape Town area. Would definitely stay again.

One of my best stays ever
The room, the hospitality, staff, breakfast - everything about Dongola House was just fantastic. I have never been so glad that I decided to stay over the night before rather than fly in early for a meeting in Cape Town. What a wonderful place!

Excellent guest house
Excellent guest house run by super-friendly ex-pat British couple. Lovely rooms, breakfast and strong w-fi signal. High point, aside the service, was the proper swimming pool that you could swim in (as opposed to the plunge pool 'swimming pools' so commonly found.

A gem in Constantia
I loved my short stay. The room was very well appointed, neat and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat: a good selection that was well prepared to my liking.

Piece of heaven
Tranquil and quiet. Suites extremely comfortable and well thought out. Hosts and staff very attentive and laid back. Glorious breakfasts. Would love to return for a longer stay one day.

Awesome stay
Beautiful house with amazing service. Enjoyed the fire to warm up in the rainy weather. Breakfast was excellent and the room was very comfortable. But the care and service really was what sets this apart. Close to excellent Constantia wineries. While downtown Cape Town and the Airport are relatively near by, the relaxed location and view from the room feels far away.

Perfect place to stay
Lovely guest house run wonderfully well by Mike and Sally. Nothing seemed too much trouble and we had a great 6 nights there. The room was very comfortable, lovely patio and pool, delicious breakfasts - just what we needed. Constantia is a great place to be too.

Best Guest House/B&B Ever!
We spent 8 great days at Dongola Guest House and were absolutely pleased with and amazed by the high level of service and comfort. Sally and Mike are incredibly gracious hosts who go above and beyond to help and please their guests. Would not hesitate to stay at Dongola again and highly recommend it for a wonderful stay in Cape Town!

Wonderful guesthouse!
My husband and I stayed at several places during our holiday in Cape Town but this one was by far our favorite! The staff was amazing and made our stay really memorable and personable. They even surprised us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The breakfast was delicious and the service was on par with any five star hotel. Mike was always more than happy to offer suggestions and advice for what to do around Cape Town. Knowing how much we loved the tea they served at breakfast, he surprised us with a package of the tea as a parting gift! Can't say enough about how wonderfully we were treated during our stay. Would highly recommend this accommodation to any visitor. Everything was clean and the location was safe and quiet. Parking is gated and we did not have any problems driving through the area even at night.

The guesthouse is one of the greatest stay I have had. Great value for money. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Constantia -- a famouse wine area. Breakfast is wonderful.

A wonderful place to stay in a wonderful part of one of the most wonderful cities in the world. Sally and Mike (and their friendly efficient) staff will take great care of you. There are 3 great reasons to stay at Dongola House. 1. The spectacular view from the garden. 2. The extremely comfortable beds. 3. The dogs.

Excellent stay!
We had a fantastic stay at Dongola House – we were warmly welcomed by Natasha, and later by Sally and Mike, the owners - and their two very friendly (ex guide dogs for the blind) labradors. The good sized room we were in was separate from the main house and had a pleasant bathroom with bath and separate shower. Wi-fi worked OK for us both in the room and by the pool. The solar heated pool and lounge area is great and the views of the hill / mountain range from the immaculately kept garden is lovely – with plenty of birds visiting the bird feeders. Breakfast – with a large range of cooked and continental options – was served by the poolside, and was very tasty. It's a good location for anyone with a car and staying three nights, we visited a number of local vineyards and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which is on this side of Table Mountain, and the city centre is only 15 / 20 mins away. We loved the area – large houses along tree lined roads – close to some great vineyards with plenty of Cape Dutch history. We ate locally in a modern restaurant on the Tokai Road, in Wynberg and at one of the vineyards, all less than 15 mins drive away. It was a very relaxing place to be and we could have easily spent more time by the pool, enjoying the view.

Top of the House!
This was a delightful introduction to South Africa and the western Cape for our 40th wedding anniversary. Even before arrival, Sally provided excellent help and suggestions, by email, for local restaurants and possible sights to see in our 3 day/4 night short visit. She and Mike were perfect hosts and should be proud of their boutique B&B and the personal care and attention which is evident in all they do. Breakfasts were beautifully prepared and enjoyed on the poolside patio with an excellent choice of cooked fare to complement cereals, pastries and fruit/yoghurt and cold meats. Our room was furthest from the main building and enjoyed a late sunset over the mountain. The bed was very comfortable and room well appointed and within WiFi range. Located in the wine estate area of Constantia, it is within easy drive of all Cape Town main sights and secluded enough to feel you are in the countryside. Sally and Mike seem to love chatting with their guests and this provides a nice relaxing ambiance to their special spot. Thanks for a great stay. Dongola House deserves to receive all its customer accolades.

Nice place to stay
We had a very nice for night stay at Dongola. Comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting, close to the vineyards. Hosts could not have been more helpful, and welcomed us even though hotels.com cancelled our booking without telling us (and despite sending a confirmation email 48 hours in advance)!

WE WERE LUCKY TO HAVE FOUND THIS ONE.

Einfach nur schön!
Es war so schön. Eine herzlicher Empfang, der Ausblick ein Traum. Zimmer sehr sauber und gemütlich. Es fehlte an nichts. Auch die guten Tipps von Sally waren sehr hilfreich.

A very nice guesthouse near Capetown
The guesthouse is situated in a very quiet and green area, just outside Capetown. The big size rooms have a lot of comfort and the garden has a pool and a beautiful view. The breakfast is very nice with all fresh ingredients and the food is made and served wit a lot of attention. The owners and manager take very good care of you. This place feels like coming home. A perfect place to discover Capetown, Cape of Good Hope and all the beautiful areas around Capetown. We definitely will come back here.

Suite B&B in a lovely surrounding
Very well located between Good Hope Cape and Cape Town City; we booked the suite for 3 people and were upgraded to an additional room for our daughter. Breakfast was amazing, thanks Sally and Mike for your warm welcome and very good advice

Zeer gastvrije ontvangst in een prachtige setting.
Wij hebben onlangs 9 nachten doorgebracht bij Mike en Sally en hun vriendelijke staf. Zeer vriendelijke mensen die graag meedenken over dagtrips of restaurants. Zeer goed verzorgd ontbijt iedere ochtend aan het zwembad met uitzicht op de bergen. Parkeren achter een afgesloten hek. Zonder iets te vragen kregen we verontschuldigingen dat we in de kleinste kamer verbleven (die nog steeds zeer prima was!) en dat we zodra het kon gratis geüpgraded werden naar een nog mooiere grotere kamer. We hoefden zelfs niet eens onze spullen over te huizen. En zo geschiedde. Een absolute aanrader!

Wir waren eine Woche im Dongola House und wir waren super zufrieden.Sally und Mike sind ausgesprochen freundliche und professionelle Gasteber, die einen jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen. Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse war sensationell, vorallem das frische selbstgebackene Brot. Die Einrichtung ist nicht mehr ganz modern, aber sehr gepflegt und im Top Zustand.Die Sauberkeit in den Appartements und im ganzen Haus ist hervorzuheben.Am Service gabe es nichts auszusetzen. Wir waren nur von freundlichen Menschen und den zwei lieben Labradoren umgeben.Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.
