“Perfect for us.”
This hotel was perfect for us. You could see the ocean from our front door, even though we didn't have an ocean front room. The room was nice & clean. There was a big pool & it was cleaned daily. The kitchenette had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay very much.
“Very Nice stay.”
We reserved this room sight unseen, and we got very lucky. It is an older motel, but is very clean. Right on the beach, quiet area, friendly owner. Very happy with our stay.
“Was a nice motel for the price”
I booked our trip last minute so I was a little hesitant about the motel without seeing it or never staying there before. It was surprisingly clean, no musty smells or odors. Everything was updated, not too luxurious but for the price and location, it was just what we were looking for. There was an outdoor pool table, shufffleboard and table tennis to keep the kids busy. We had a nice stay and I would definitely stay there again.

When we pulled up to the motel I thought "oh looks like and old motel" but was suprised the room was up to date , clean and comfortable. staff at check in very nice. I would recomend to a friend. If you have more than 4 in your party a one room suite not enough room even though has a sofa bed you would be on top of each other
“would recommend, very quiet location for relaxation”
hotel was set up very well, well relaxed, right on beach, pool very clean & kept warm. Maid service there promptly everyday. Kitchen well stocked w/everything you need to cook with.
“Good for location & price”
Modest motel with very courteous service. Efficiency apartment for same price,or,less than most motel rooms. Outdoor activities for guests on premises with rooms overlooking activities. Establishment is quite old but not neglected.
“Wildwood 5/18/12 - 5/20/12”
Monterey Motel was a great place to stay. I would recommend it especially to people that are staying for a week. The room had a kitchenette(Refrig, Sink, Microwave, Stove/Oven). The bedroom had two double beds plenty of room for 2 people in each. Plus, there was a futon in the living room for an extra person. We had 4 people in our group and it was plenty of room for all of us. The staff was nice and accommodating. We needed extra towels and were given them right away. Also we had a problem getting the DVD player to work. We called to the office. They brought up the remote we needed right away.
“Adequate”
Each of the 2 room eff. are individually owned so each one probably has its own character. Our room seemed to have the bare minimum. No hangers for clothes, An ancient Mr. Coffee, dull knives in the drawer and no ironing board in the room. I'm sure an iron and board was available at the front desk but we were in room 311 and I didn't want to lug that up to the 3rd floor. The woman at the front desk seems to have a policy of don't speak unless spoken to- so if you are used to super friendly service with lots of tips about local attractions or eateries she will disappoint. Good points- On the beach, clean, reasonable rates for location, Heated pool, Gas grill, Maid service was good. Our stay here is best summed up as "Adequate" we will stay somewhere else next time but if nothing else was available we would come back but be better prepared (bring hangers,knives,iron,etc...)
“Customer Service???”
The 1st night the AC stopped working at 2am. When we reported this to the Manager the next morning, we were told that they would look at it sometime during the day. Meanwhile this is during the hottest week of the summer. I looked into the problem and ended up fixing it myself. The batteries in the thermostat were dead. This was later reported to the Manager who told us that "Batteries can go dead at any time, we can't be responsible" Not very apologetic either... Needless to say, we won't be going back.
