"Tranquility, cuisine and fun programs - the best."
If you need to have the total package of a culinary experience, water sports, tours and resort life...this is your place. I enjoyed the stress free pampering of a well trained staff and nice facilities.
Located on the beachfront in East Bali, the hotel offers enjoy terrain and scenery that ranges from the flat, sandy coast, to …More
The staff went out of their way to please. We could want for nothing. The swimming pool, I think, is a 25 metre so one can do lengths if wished. We had a first floor balcony and the view and gardens are to die for.
Situated right on the beach, Bali Shangrila Beach Club is a perfect getaway destination. It is one of only a few resorts left in Candidasa that has its own white sand beach with a coral reef teaming with fish about 30 metres off shore that provides some of the best snorkelling in Bali. No need to go to Blue Lagoon or Amed. It's all right here and only a 5 minute walk into the main street. Candidasa has great restaurants. I highly recommend Vincent and La Rouge as well as the Crazy Kangaroo and a burger with Gary at No Nasi Goreng is a necessity. The best burger I've had outside Andrews in Melbourne. Candidasa also has a large expat population and they are all wonderful people.
As you arrive at the Watergarden Hotel in Candidasa, it is quite deceiving as the front reception is simple, and small. But what a wonderful treat - as we were lead to our rooms, up a very clean and tidy path through lush gardens, we were very pleased to see our room. Set in a very lush tropical setting, the room was lovely, nice and cool, and we had the joy of spending quite a lot of time relaxing on our verandah feeding out koi. It felt like that we were away from the world, so peaceful.
Staff were wonderful, especially the Orchid Day Spa, where I went every day for a massage and to be pampered and spoilt. Great place to unwind. The Manager there is lovely, and we could not find fault with anyone there, and the prices were excellent.
Staff were always happy and greeted you with a smile, and the meals in the restaurant were great, plenty of variety and staff were very happy to order off the menu as well. They were able to help us with booking a driver to see the sights of East Bali as well as book in a fishing trip in a traditional Balinese boat.
We visited in November in the low season, and had absolutely perfect weather the entire time. Now looking at when we can return.
"Beautiful complex in idyllic location on sea shore"
Complex of bungalows, villas and apartments surrounding large central pool with carefully tended gardens and sculptures. Bungalows quaint but rustic; apartments lavish, large and ornately decorated with discerning art. We stayed in latter which had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and huge lounge with self-contained kitchen opening on to private plunge pool.
Although the hotel is tired (it is being demolished this year), it is a great place to stay and good value for money. Located in the heart of candi dasa and right on the beach it is an ideal place to explore the area. Rooms is spacious and comfortable although the fittings in the bathroom are old. Would recommend this place if you want good value for money, friendly staff and a pleasant stay. if you are thingy about luxury - stay elsewhere. It suited us just fine
A haven of quiet relaxation, the fishing village of Candi Dasa on Amuk Bay is the antitheses of frenetic Kuta to the southwest. With a rocky coastline, most swimming is confined to resort pools, although some of Bali’s best diving and snorkelling is found in this area. Candi Dasa is also a great base from which to explore the historical and cultural sights of the east, including the pre-Hindu village of Tenganan, the sacred baths of Tirtagangga, and Bali's mother temple, Pura Besakih.
