“as great as advertised”
the best service, food, cleaniless, etc., we have experienced in a hotel. this is the best hotel i have ever stayed in and definitely one of the best in Cancun. the only two criticisms we had: 1) as is evident from reading other reviews, if you book a regular room and want a king bed, they will definitely make you pay extra and upgrade upon arrival or you'll have to settle for two doubles. so no matter what it says on expedia or any other website, you do not get a king bed if you book a regular room. there's no way around it! 2) no water sports at the hotel, so if you want to jet ski or parasail or kayak, need to go to different hotel or the lagoon. otherwise, the food was phenomenol, professional chefs, and absolutely amazing. the alcohol is top shelf and includes johnny walker black label, jack daniels, sky vodka, and other premium liquers such as frangelico, kahlua, etc. i'm mentioning this because this is something i was trying to find out before booking the hotel and i was pleasantly surprised from by the alcohol selection. also, drinks are not watered down. this is a first-class resort for couples only, so you will not find anyone under 18.
“Love this place!!”
The Royal In Cancun is such an extraordinary place. This is the second time I've return to the resort. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. We got upgraded from the regular Junior Suite to the Royal Junior Suite. Its essentially the same room, but with different amenities (such as Chef's Plate and an hour of free rental of the Mini Cooper). The first time I came to the resort, the beach was not completed. This time it was completed and it's simply beautiful. Great place, Great food. I highly recommend this place for adults. I love the privacy and the peacefulness of the place, since there are no kids allowed.
“Great Stay”
This was our second time at the Royal and our visit was just as great as the previous. Awesome location, beautiful views, great food, and exceptional staff.
“Will certainly go back”
This was our very first trip to Cancun. Upon arrival, we were greeted w/champagne & the most beautiful hotel that we have ever been in. Staff are friendly & welcoming. We stayed in Rm 615 & the view was great! Could not have picked a better hotel. Food was great, Service was great, Bar was great -- we will certainly go back & stay at The Royal. Please make sure you tip, the staff work hard in all that heat! Can't thing of one negative. Spa was great, we did a couple's massage, I would recommend that you visit.
“Excellent time”
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and fancy. We went with 11 other couples and it was large enough to accomodate all of us wanting to be together or hang out. The food was excellent with Spice for lunch and Asiana for dinner being the best. Don't pass up going to Asiana for the Hibachi as that was a lot of fun. The pool was the highlight as it was heated so no reason to get out when the evening turned cool. The beach is outstanding and huge. Overall this was a great stay and would recommend this hotel to all.

“What a great hotel!! A must stay in Cancun!!”
It was our first time in Cancun and my husband and I were looking for a great all inclusive hotel. After reading the great reviews of this hotel, we went ahead and booked it. This hotel was everything I expected it to be and much much more! It is only a year and a half olf so you are getting the best of the best. We were greated by the concierge who escorted us to the 5th floor where we were greeted with champagne while we checked in right on the 5th floor (where our room was). It is perfect for a weekend getaway with your significant other or girlfriends. The staff is friendly and speak english...always willing to help. You get personalized service from beginning to end. The food is amazing with the regular buffet (Spice) and 4 other restaurants including Pelicanos which is open air overlooking the beach, serving great seafood. All the rooms have a full size jetted tub in the room (tile floors) and an oceanfront balcony with a hammock. The beach is amazing...a bit rough when we were there but it was warm and very inviting. The pool is heated with a swim up bar. They have beach and pool cabanas with full service (pool butlers and waitresses) -all included. You will not see any kids here - this is an all adult property. I was very impressed with this hotel. It made my trip to Cancun very memorable. I cannot wait to go back to the Royal Cancun.
“Great hotel from Cancun frequenter”
We just got back from a 4 night stay here. It was great, great drinks, liquor bottles in the room! Maria Marie, not very good food. Asiana was the best! Wonderful sushi. The only thing that upset me was that when we got there they said all they had was rooms with 2 double beds unless we upgraded, which i think is their "trick" to make you pay more. We did upgrade and I didnt think about it the rest of the week, and the room was wonderful.
“The only place we will ever stay now. We are spoiled!!!!!!!!”
Hotel was like a palace. We were spoiled. It was the nicest place we've ever been. We won't stay anywhere else now and we go to Cancun at least once a year. Staff was very friendly and food was awesome. Keep in mind that even though you might request a king bed, it is not guaranteed upon arrival causing you to be forced to upgrade to a more expensive room. It is across the street from Margaritaville, Bubba Gumps and Outback Steakhouse, and a mall, making it convenient. Also a 15 minute walk to Senor Frogs and Cocobonga. Make sure the men take a pair of dress pants and closed toe shoes, as 3 out of the 5 hotels restaurants require it. We spent half a day looking for pants for my husband just for dinner because the pants at the boutique were expensive. Other than that, next year we will stay 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!
“Great Resort”
Pleased with the overall experience here. The food was good, the hotel staff were friendly and the service was exceptional. I would absolutely return here for another vacation. My wife and I only left the resort 2 times in 7 days. The only negative comment that I have is related to the check-in. When we arrived we were promtly greeted and escorted to the concierge for check-in. They asked us if we wanted a room upgrade. When I said no, they cut the price and asked again. Then they said they did not have the room we reserved. After 10 minutes of arguing, we finally got keys to the type of room we reserved. Overall the experience here was great. I was little concerned by the way it started but after that, only a positive experience.
