This is a HOTEL with AI but this is not a resort!

Posted 25-Jul-2015
My room had a musty smell as soon as we entered and was unable to get rid with a room freshener throughout our stay. We complained but offered a room overlooking a roof of another hotel. This is unexpected for an upgraded room with VIP concierge service. In addition, one of our relative got punched trying to stop a fight but the night hotel manager refused to call police or ambulance. This manager ONLY called the police when our injured relative touched him when the commotion started because of his refusal to ensure the safety and we'll being of a HOTEL guest!!!

Not at all what I expected!

Posted 24-Jul-2015
Rooms are very old, I stayed in family suit and it was very old. Noise level is very high. I felt like my door was open, I can hear everything outside the door. Beds not comfortable at all. Hotel staff was helpful and nice but it didn't make up for small pools, I felt like sardine packed in barrel! Food was just ok but don't expect stake and lobster. One night they served steak but it tasted like hospital food. so overall we didn't enjoy our stay much. Beach was ok, they have cabanas but they reserved for speacial rooms only. Next time I go back to Barcello or Rui much better food and facilities.

Beautiful Resort on the beach

Posted 24-Jul-2015
Pros: I loved the friendliness of the staff and the variety of free food and drinks
Cons: Better wifi reception in the rooms could be improved
Location: The local bus ride was only $1. We traveled downtown, to the mall, night life, and market for souvenirs. Everything was also available on the resort.
My very first time at an all inclusive resort and it was more than I expected. Upon arrival I was greeted with a cold drink and cool towel, I felt like royalty. The food and drinks were great and available 24/7, I never had to use room service because I was in walking distance to the 24 hour food bar which was always stocked with a variety of foods. The restaurants were nice and the staff is very friendly. I did not have to go far for anything, my cell service was not the best so I was thankful for the wifi and computer room. This resort is also kid friendly so I would love to return for a family vacation or romantic getaway since this was a class reunion trip. With more time I would loved to have Parasailed, jet ski and partake of a massage before leaving. This was not included in my package but was available. I can't wait to return next year

Nice hotel with beach

Nice hotel but a lot of noise from other residences ie. Shutting their doors, moving chairs around their rooms and others.

Nice place

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Everything and all staff were superb. The only drawback, seriously, was the poor Internet connection.
Cons: The Internet connection and there could also be a couple more English speaking channels on the TV.
Brought my kids on a Cancun vacation. Nice place, convenient to everything (although Chicken Itza is a long trek).

Nice hotel

The hotel was nice. The food was just ok and the AC in the room wasn't great but overall for the price, it wasn't bad.

Thank you for coming, let us waste your time.

Pros: It was clean and relatively taken care of.
Cons: The staff but the issue seems to be so deep rooted that I don't see that it can be fixed.
My biggest issue with this hotel was the staff, not so much the hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted in what seemed liked a nice gesture only to realize 45 minutes into the "greeting" that it was to try to sell us something. We figured we'd take the chance since they were offering two days free if we took the "90 minute" tour. Well, it wasn't 90 minutes and finally had to get rude with them. Then we got the two days free but of course, two get two days you had to buy four and they charge you a $50 booking free for each day so what is free about that. Next, we got all inclusive but the food was poor at best. The food that is offered is generic bland food. And even when we decided to just eat there cause we paid for it it wasn't maintained well so one might go to the buffet for lunch and find things almost completely empty and unappetizing. Advice, don't go for the all inclusive, it's not worth it. Just go buy food outside of the hotel. The beach, while the ocean is nice and blue it is not inviting. The continual 6' waves will dissuaded many from getting into the water. This is enough for me not to stay at this hotel again. Lastly, the staff screwed up making us almost miss our flight by not giving us all out documents back and then they didn't want to pay for the cost we incurred as a result. In fighting with them to take responsibility we had to run. The staff even lied to our face about what had occurred, forcing us to get angry with them.
