Excellence Playa Mujeres Adults Only All Inclusive is nestled on two miles of white-sand Caribbean beach in a resort community with inland marina, spa, and golf course. Complimentary airport shuttle is available upon request. The resort features 9 restaurants, 11 bars, and 24-hour room service. Amenities include a nightclub, four freestanding spa tubs, five spa tubs adjoined to pools, and seven outdoor pools, four of which are heated in the winter.
Other recreational opportunities include scuba diving, deep sea fishing, private yacht rentals, and the Playa Mujeres Golf Club, a 7,260-yard, 18-hole course designed by Greg Norman (surcharge). A health club, which includes a sauna and a steam room, is also on site. The full-service day spa, Miile Spa, offers massage and beauty treatments (surcharge).
In addition to a business center, the property offers 6 meeting rooms for large and small groups, banquet facilities, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Concierge services are available at desks throughout the property.

Guest suites at Excellence Playa Mujeres All Inclusive feature private furnished balconies or patios with pool or ocean views, and private spa tubs with interior and exterior access. All suites are 75 square meters (807 square feet). Bedrooms have walk-in closets, and separate sitting areas are furnished with wide, L-shaped sofas. Marble bathrooms have rainfall showerheads in two-person showers, as well as scales, telephones, bathrobes, and slippers.
Amenities include 42-inch LCD TVs with DVD players, wireless Internet access, CD players, clock radios with MP3 docking stations, minibars, and laptop-size safes. Turndown service is performed daily.

Recreation
The resort has seven outdoor pools with five adjoining spa tubs. Four other spa tubs are freestanding. A health club with sauna and steam room is also on site.
Non-motorized water sports equipment includes kayaks, sail boats, snorkeling gear, and windsurfers. Land sports include two tennis courts and a basketball court. Lessons such as salsa dancing, cooking, yoga, aerobics, and rifle shooting are also included in the room rate.

The onsite full-service MIILE SPA offers a wide selection of treatments including body wraps, facials, and hydrotherapy. Massages are available in the 15 relaxing treatment suites, in the couple rooms or on the beach. This spa also features sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, and spa boutique.

It is a very romantic place and the food couldn't be any better. Just beautiful atmosphere and it was so NOT crowded.

After staying in Cancun on three other visits, NOTHING tops the Excellence Playa Mujeres. This place was really beautiful and the service was phenomenal. This was the most we had payed for an all inclusive, but it was worth it. While planning the trip we received quick feedback from Esther the concierge. She helped us plan a quick private shuttle to and from the airport. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Nice touch! The restaurants were all delicious. For dinner we tried Toscana, Chez Isabelle(favorite), and Agave. We also tried the Tapas Bar which was pretty delicious. For lunch and breakfast we tried the Barcelona buffet and the Grill which were all very good. If you are waiting to book...this is your hotel! It is the best and ofcourse what is really nice, if you wanna get away from the kids, is that it is adults only!
“Our Expectations were Exceeded!!!”
We stayed at the Excellence in Playa Mujeres for 5 days/4 nights at the end of April 2010. My husband and I traveled with another couple. We were SO impressed with this hotel and staff. I have never encountered service as attentive and pleasant as at the Excellence ANYWHERE! The food was truly amazing - I did not eat or drink anything the entire trip that was not wonderful. The beach and pool were clean, well-maintained and very relaxing. The variety of restaurants and bars was extensive. It was not difficult to find an area or ambiance which suited us on any particular night. We will be returning to this hotel, and will probably also book a future stay at another of the Excellence Resorts.
“25th Anniversary Trip”
My husband & I went on a 5 day trip for our anniversary.. overall the hotel, service & food was truly exceptional!! The food & beverages were just incredible, ALL top quality & anything you could possibly want (we even had Surf-n-Turf two days in a row). My only complaints were transfers from the airport. When you get off the plane & are looking for a taxi, well dressed (uniformed) people direct you to individuals who you think are taxi companies & they are trying to sell timeshares. It is really overwhelming. With the exceptional quality of this hotel, they should protect travelers from this & have some type of guide/shuttle. BTW.. We paid $80 to get to the hotel (seemed to be the going rate), and $35 for the return trip. We also had more rain than I would have expected, maybe later October is a rainier time, just something to keep in mind.
“Planning to return in 2010”
Everything about this hotel was wonderful. We were especially pleased with the staff who did everything in their power to make our stay memorable. It was important to us that we tip the servers, housekeepters, wait staff, and bartenders. They were so very grateful, and remembered us each time we returned.
“Trip of a lifetime!”
The resort has three security checkpoints in order to get just to the front door. We felt safe and well taken care of once we walked that door. The people at the resort could not do enough for us. They were all very kind, happy people. Customer service galore! We did sign up for the club and we would do that again. I experienced an injury at a pool and was sent to the local hospital, where we spent the next 7 hours. The hotel sent a translator (Edwardo) with us and they sent another (Karina) on the day I needed to return the hospital. I spent the majority of the time at the pool, in the shade being waited on by Rafael and Adan. Rafael would bring me a ice cold towel on the hour, every hour to take the swelling down on my face. Adan made sure I had a beverage. These gentlemen made me feel like a Mayan Queen! My negative comment would be about the Best Day Travel company that booked our side trips. Those trips are not wheelchair accessible. We had purchased the trips before the accident and went back to make sure a wheelchair could be used. We were told no problem. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! I felt horrible by how hard my family had to work to get where I needed to be by wheelchair. The hotel staff could not do enough for my husband and me. We appreciate every thing they did for us. We plan to return to by next May with our daughter and son-in-law who were traveling with us. They lost out on our trip of a lifetime.

If you are looking for a wonderful trip, then Excellence Playa Mujeres is the place. My partner and I went and we had the best time. We are a same-sex couple and felt welcome! The food was exquisite, the drinks were well-made and the service was impeccable.
“Very impressed”
We found this resort very nice. We were here for our sons wedding. They made the experience memorable. We stayed in early August and the place was only about half occupied. We never had to wait to get seated at the onsite restaurants. This resort is also located North of the main Hotel Row. This was nice in that we felt secluded. We would definitely stay here again.
