“A trip back in time”
The Lakehouse is a wonderful, olde world hotel, which looks over a local reservoir, it could have been transported from the England of many years ago. The bedrooms are quite large and the double beds are in fact 4 poster beds. The service from the staff is first class and the food is wonderful. The Chef, Edmund, has been there for many years and is clearly very good. The location in the cameron Highlands is quite good being slightly on the edge of the main attractions so a car is important.
“Loved this hotel”
A beautiful hotel overlooking a lake near Ringlet. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
“English Tudor in Malaysia”
If you're looking for a unique and lovely place to stay, I'd recommend the Lake House. The rooms feature antique furniture and canopy beds. The dinning room offers excellent food. No televison, no piped-in music.
“New Year Holiday 2012”
Not the first time staying at this Hotel. It continues to have very friendly and attentive staff. Well kept rooms and common hotel facilities. Breakfast is well presented with plenty of choice. Restaurant food is also very good and well worth it. The Hotel has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Well situated for those who also want a bit of adventure by taking up the local activities such as forest trekking and sight seeing. (don't forget to bring your trekking shoes/boots) A great experience overall. Will return again on my next visit to Cameron Highlands.
“Away from the main towns in the Cameron Highlands”
The mock tudor theme is overdone in the Cameron Highlands, but the Lakehouse handles it very well and far better than most. Located away from the major towns, the Lakehouse has a lovely view over the lake that is a brown colour due to the run-off from the soil. The setting is idyllic other than the proximity of the main road that, surprisingly, never bothered us, even when sitting out in the large garden. The staff were very friendly and, during the week, the hotel was not busy. The food was OK but not outstanding. The local towns provide far cheaper fare, but you definitely need a car here. The price of beer and wines is very high, but not untypical of a good hotel in Malaysia. Again, this is far cheaper in town, but then you would lose the 'English' atmosphere of the place and that really makes it special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the trip organised by the hotel was good value and enjoyable. I would return to the Lakehouse and recommend it as a relaxing and rather special retreat.
