Friendly staff but Overrated and expensive

Posted 22-Jun-2014
Expensive for the amenities that it offers, which is essentially none. Food options are very limited and taste is nothing much to talk about. Staff is smiling, friendly and helpful.

Extremely Noisy

Posted 7-Jun-2014
Pros: The architecture
Cons: Noise control
Location: Lots of strawberry picking, tea and bee farms, and if you like boiled food they have steamboat (or hot pot) everywhere.
It's a beautiful place both inside and out. The rooms are fine. However, we were getting a sense that there wasn't much to do in the hotel itself. You pay a lot of money to stay in a nice room. That's kind of it. The breakfast buffet wasn't too great, the selection was vast, but the taste wasn't there (lacking salt or something). The location is fine, you're a five minute drive to town (where the Starbucks is). The biggest of the issues was the noise. We're so close to the street the cars that drive by feel like they are outside your window, they were also doing some kind of construction below (so no naps here to make up for the lack of sleep at night), and the call to prayer was sooooo incredibly loud you thought the mosque would be in the lobby. I have to say though it was one of the most beautiful calls to prayer I have ever heard. So, come here if you like pretty but don't like to sleep.

Friendly and convenient hotel in Cameron Highlands

Posted 22-Jan-2014
Pros: Room cleanliness and staff service quality
Cons: Dining options and also perhaps a swimming pool
Location: Two major towns of Tanah Rata and Brinchang, and also nearby to most attractions
A boutique-like hotel with only about 70 rooms but very good service team and also quick to respond to guest requests. Rooms are clean, and although there are not many facilities comparing to a larger hotel, it is still sufficient for dining and accommodation. Ample car park space and also very convenient location between both town centres on the hill.

Comfy Room

Posted 7-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
Our room is clean and tidy - chamber maid cleans our room regularly. As our room is near the road, can be noisy at times and it is not near town. Need to drive to nearby town for meals. Wifi connection in the hotel not consistant.

Reasonable for a family of 4 adults

Posted 26-Dec-2013
I am actually glad to see hotel such as De La Fern offering Quad Deluxe for 4 adults. Location is also good which is in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang. Closer to Tanah Rata.

Nice Hotel

Posted 22-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Our family of four stayed in a quad room for one night. The hotel looks good and is at a quiet part of Cameron, but not too far from amenities. The room was clean and spacious. It was airy and bright. The view was also good. The service can be improved though. The waitresses at the cafe were more like security guards. They ”jaga” the doors rather than offering services. We reported that the safe in the room was locked by the previous occupants but nobody came to open for us. The buffet breakfast was reasonably good. The towels in the room could be more fluffy. Overall, our stay was value for money.

Great hotel at Cameron Highlands

Posted 19-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
This was my second stay there. Previously had been there 3 years back and it was a good place. This time round, having checked the reviews on the net to ensure the experience wouldn't be any less, took a trip to Cameron Highlands (CH) and stayed at De La Ferns yet again. We had a good experience once again. Place was clean, rooms were spacious and breakfast was alright. A few pointers to note however. 1) Room service ends at 10.30pm. So you have to order early or buy in food from elsewhere beforehand. 2) the room aren't air-conditioned as CH is cold enough generally; mid day might get a little warm if you do not open up the windows to let the moving air in to counter the heat. 3) Located in the middle of 2 towns, if you do not drive, prepare for a 15-20min walk to either towns. Its not too bad if done in the morning or evening where its still very cool.

Quiet hotel, nice view

Posted 30-Sep-2013
1) Quiet hotel, nice valley view from balcony, although room size is a bit smaller than Equatorial, which I don't mind; 2) Come with breakfast and free wifi (which speed is faster compare to Equatorial's); 3) Front desk kept our luggage without issuing any luggage tap, which worries me; 4) It is about 20mins walking distance to Tanah Rata town; 5) Tour package price quote by the hotel is the same as provided directly by the travel agent (C.S Travel), however, same package quoted by Equatorial is RM20 more (my package is 1 day adventure tour RM80); 6) Taxi can be hired by min 3 hours (RM25 per hour), they bring you to whichever place you want to visit, but certain place need extra charge (check with taxi driver). During my 5 hours taxi trip, we have visited lavender farm-rose valley-time tunnel-strawberry farm-smoke house-lake house-bharat tea plantation. But if order from hotel, the price will be RM30 per hour with better car condition. Overall, it is a small hotel with nice environment.
