A little disappointed that we were only notified at 4pm the evening before our stay that the pool was out of order. We were offered a pass for a swimming centre near by but it was super inconvenient and out of the way. We were looking forward to swimming every day with our kids who were on spring break. That being said the hotel was super nice and we would definitely stay here again

The idea of a bedroom suite is great but it's so cramped it's hard to move around at all, in addition the pool broke down after the first day and so we spent three days with our kids looking for other activities to do when we had planned specifically for them to play in the pool and on the water slides.

A family friendly hotel. The kitchen area is really useful although the location is far from downtown there are nearby restaurants available. Surely we will book in this hotel again.

A great effort is being made to update this property, however it's age is still showing through. Our one bedroom suite had doors that were filthy and falling apart, dirty chipping kickboards, however the beds were so comfortable. The lights, counters, fixtures and much more were updated. The breakfast was very good. Pool was cold and dark. But the slide was good and the hot tub was great.

They were training staff when we arrived so the check in was a bit longer than normal I'm sure. When we called in for a shuttle we were told just to use a taxi and have the driver come in to be reimbursed, our taxi driver seemed a bit upset about it but it did cause him a wait as well. We were able to stay in a multiple bedroom room which was awesome as we were travelling as a family. The room was spacious and clean and would be great for a long term stay as it had kitchen amenities. A restaurant on site for supper would have been convenient but there were restaurants close by, we just needed a cab as we didn't have a car. I would have no problem staying again.

Unexpected experience
I loved the hotel, we were there for 3 nights in total. I already gave a review of the first two nights. I had a very scary experience on Dec 31evening. I was on the phone with a friend and started hearing a beeping sound nearby, not in my room. Then I began to smell smoke in my room. I then realized the sound I’d been hearing for 5 min was a smoke alarm. I opened my door and the hallway was filled with smoke. I quickly closed the door and tried to call the front desk. No one picked up the phone. I have mobility issues and use a walker. I quickly left the room and headed for the front desk. When I got there, the receptionist was visiting with a guest. I told them about the smoke, which they were unaware of. They went to check it out. I stayed there because in my haste to leave my room and get help, I had cut my arm and was bleeding quite a bit. They came back in a few minutes and said the room across the hall from me had burnt something. They went back to visiting. No attempt was made to try and dissipate the smoke or notify others of what was happening. The clerk did give me a bandaid for my arm, but could not understand why I had been in a haste to leave my room. I said, you smell smoke, you see smoke, you leave! On my way back to my room some others guests on my hallway were concerned, I told them what was going on. We decided to put towels under the edge of our doors to keep the smoke out of our rooms. I have asthma, so it was a concern to me.

We are asked how many people are staying in the room, but when we asked for sheets for the pull-out bed, they didn’t have any in stock so we had to use a towel for a pillow and flat sheets given to us. Second out shower was clogged and other people’s hair was disgustingly backing up into the tub, plus the shower was leaking. Next the hot tub was out of service even though we were told it would be fixed by the morning, our key cards worked only sometimes, and there were no towels in the pool area despite numerous requests. The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast and the attentiveness of the staff in the breakfast area. The front desk can only do what they can because they were alone, but it seemed like the rest of the staff were out to lunch.

Building was fine, breakfast was fine. Appears to be a staffing issue, not enough staff to ensure customer comfort. We booked a family room as we are 5 people. We were short a full sheet set for the sofa bed. When we asked for additional linens we were told that the housekeeping staff was gone for the night and they had no more sheets for the bed. They gave us an extra blanket - which are super scratchy and rough not enjoyable for sleeping under. Tired of having to pay extra for a room with a sofa bed for a family of five to follow occupancy rules but never receiving the bedding for the 5th bed or having enough towels to a conidate the number of people booked in the room.
