Nice hotel near downtown Calgary

Posted 2-Jul-2015
Pros: The size of the room, and the reasonable cost, were the best perks of the hotel.
Cons: They could have more restaurant facilities where one could obtain breakfast in a quiet atmosphere.
Location: The hotel location was relatively close to downtown and all its attractions.
Unfortunately, I was first assigned a room facing the backs of other buildings which had huge, and noisy, air-conditioning units continuously running all night. However, the next day, I asked for a room on the north side of the hotel which was much quieter and very comfortable.

Great Hotel / Excellent Location

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Cons: Only comment would be that the lighting in the bathroom could be brighter.
Location: We came down for meetings at the Saddledome so the location was execellent.
This is a lovely quaint hotel in a good downtown location. Always enjoy staying here.

Hotel is very east to access and park your car or rental. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to your needs. Hotel beds are extremely comfortable and rooms provide a very modern feel with large spacious, clean bathrooms. The best feature of this hotel however, are the two restaurants. They restaurants offer spectacular meals for those with adventurous pallets. The restaurant staff is also extremely friendly. Mateja is a server at the Bistro restaurant who is fantastic, ask for her if you dine there.

Nice hotel, close to the convention center.

Posted 6-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and comfort of bed.
Cons: The sink counter was just the sink, so there was no where to put one's toiletries. There was a full-length mirror in the room to put on make-up.
Location: Hotel was within walking distance of many trendy shopping and dining places. The popular Peace Bridge was a short drive away.
Comfortable, clean room with friendly hotel staff. Restaurant downstairs was convenient, but prices were a little high, like most hotel restaurant rates. Parking was reasonable. Location was within walking distance to the convention center attached to the Hyatt, where our event was taking place.

Reasonable location

Posted 24-May-2015
Pros: Nice room and clean. Beds comfortable.
Cons: Yes, inform customer's if the advertised facilities are not available. You are selling a product.
Location: Not much for this location
Booked this hotel as it had a swimming pool but when arrived it was out of order. Felt a bit cheated and should not have to pay the published price. Disappointed !

Worst room of the hotel (I think)

Posted 19-May-2015
Pros: The staff was nice. The lobby was very well kept and the restaurants are great.
Cons: The room itself and the walls are paper thin.
My mom had stayed in this hotel last year and I saw the room and it was very nice. We somehow got the worst room in the place (small room right across from the fitness centre that echoed into our room). The room had many spots in it that were not renovated like the rest of the room (light switch cover, fan cover, etc).

Uninformative staff

Posted 19-May-2015
Pros: Nice bathroom renovations
Cons: Staff needs to be more professional
We were assigned a room they said was clean. I parked my car, went up with a key, and completely forgot my room #, my boyfriend had it downstairs. I got to the 9th floor, saw a housekeeper and asked her if I could call the lobby, she happily obliged. Ringing the front desk, I said, "I forgot my, room number, could you help me out?" We exchanged information to confirm names and he replied with, "The room number should be on the packet". I said, "Yes, but that is in the parking with my boyfriend, I only have a key". He told me to hold. 2 minutes later he came back, he said, "How are you calling the front desk?" I said, "The housekeeper said I could use the phone in the room she is cleaning". He again told me to hold. 2 minutes later he came back again, "You are in your room though" I looked around the room, clearly being made up, garbage still everywhere, I told him exactly that. He said, "But the room is marked clean in my system" Meanwhile the housekeeper is in the back saying how she hasnt marked it clean yet. He put me on hold for another 5 minutes. When he returned to the phone, said he would send someone up with room keys for us to switch rooms. I mainly wasn't impressed how long it took for them to give me a straight answer about anything after providing them with my information. On top of that he talked back to me about the room being clean when I was standing in its filth.
