Awesome Hotel!

Posted 28-Jul-2014
I went on a spontaneous trip to Calgary for the first time and decided to stay at Hotel Arts, it was a great place to stay, outdoor pool and patio, right downtown and a 20 minute walk to almost everything (depeding how fast you walk). All in all it was a great place to stay.

Pleasant, modern hotel near downtown

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: Artwork, pool, location, staff, valet parking, and food.
Cons: Booklets in room to tell you of all the hotel amenities and restaurants, fridges in rooms, bigger (or another) gym.
Location: Near downtown.
The staff were all friendly, helpful, and efficient. The outdoor pool is lovely, with poolside yoga, the gym is extremely tiny and minimal, and the blown glass lights everywhere were beautiful and artsy. The valet parking is only $10 more than self parking, and was definitely worth it! Room service was right on time (ordered breakfast the night before), and the food was awesome. Rooms do not come with fridges, so I believe you'd have to make a special request. I would definitely stay here again if there was another deal going on, but I'm not sure I would pay the full price quoted online. Lovely hotel!

Awful hotel. Poor service. Worse management

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Avoid this place at all costs. Over priced and very poorly managed. Not a place worth your money. Also rated very poorly on tripadvisor too.

Pool bar / restaurant was a highlight.

Had a great time at the pool bar. The hotel exterior could use an upgrade, and free wireless should be added.

Pros: Good room rates
Cons: More reasonable restaurant.

Great stay close to Saddledome

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Location: Near Pubs, restaurants and markets
1.1 km away from Saddledome. 15-20 min walk to Saddledome and don't have to deal with parking. Pool looks nice but didn't have time to enjoy. Good price $199.

Great hotel with great location and facilities!

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Stampede time can be pretty hectic, but from the time I checked in until I left, Hotel Arts proved to be a perfect spot to take in all the fun, as well as a great place to come back and relax. I'll stay there again!

A mixed experience

Posted 12-Jul-2014
The property is generally attractive with artistic features representative of it's name. But our stay there was a bit odd. The staff, who all seemed to be 20-somethings, had a friendly demeanor but weren't too focused on their work. For instance, one evening it was a challenge to get someone's attention at the front desk as the three staff members joked about how many energy drinks they needed to complete their shift. One of two elevators wasn't working. The garage door system worked intermittently. The WiFi, which came with a charge, was also hit and miss. While the hotel and room were both attractive, the issues with customer service and maintenance made the two night stay less than pleasurable.

Excellent Hotel!

Posted 8-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff - amazing! Love the outdoor pool Excellent location Room was very modern, especially loved the bathroom!
Cons: The air conditioning was leaking a bit - but they informed us that they are working on getting them fixed. The room could use a bit more lighting.
Location: The hotel is right downtown, and has quick access to 17th ave (bars, nice restaurants etc)
My Husband and I went for our anniversary. The lady at the front desk asked what brought us to the hotel, I told we were just getting away for our anniversary. About 20 minutes after entering our room we received a knock on the door, with a beautiful dessert tray!! The staff were so great and thoughtful towards us.
