Disappointing Service

Posted 21-Apr-2014
The eating area was terribly understaffed. There was one person waiting on quite a full eating areas. She did her best but there were several large groups of dancers and volleyball teams. Sunday morning there was no cutlery and very little food in the breakfast area and again one poor waitress going full speed. The hotel staff seemed more involved in preparing for the Sunday brunch. O.K. stay in room but considering what the room charges were I have certainly had better service.

Totally enjoyable stay

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: Stay was overall very enjoyable.
Cons: A couple times other guests got a bit loud in the restaurant area and around the pool. I had to constantly adjust the room heat, it was inconsistent.
Location: Right beside the football stadium. Convenient NW location. Quick to get downtown. It's a good spot.
Excellent buffet breakfast. Good little fitness room. Nice staff. Good room cleanliness and follow up cleaning throughout the stay. Convenient location in NW.

Good hotel in good location

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: location
Cons: Last stay on a snowy, cold and wet Friday night to attend opera. After the show (11.15pm) no food or bar service available in public areas
Stayed here 3 weeks after moving to Calgary and many times over last 30 years. Always good to excellent. Dinner and breakfast excellent.

Hotel close to our venues we were in Calgary for.

Posted 26-Mar-2014
Pros: it was close to our venues and to our favorite shopping and eating establishments.
Cons: Our mattress in our room was too well used and needed to be updated. There was no map of Calgary or even a phone book in our room.
Location: It was close to Market Mall that has awesome shopping as well as some eating establishments. It is also very close to 2 hospitals.
This was going to be our last booking with this hotel as, the time before this it was a horrible experience from booking it, getting put into another room and the staff were not pleasant regarding their displacing us. However, I booked through Expedia and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. To say the least, I was rather impressed by the upgrades done to the rooms, the good hospitality change, the free breakfast with booking online, as well as the fact it was super close to our venues and to shopping. Will book again for sure.

Nice hotel, convenient location close to UofC.

Posted 25-Mar-2014
Pros: The location was good for the event we were attending.
Cons: More fruit at breakfast, please.
Location: Market Mall was very close, statium right across the street and lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Rooms were clean and quiet, only criticism would be the breakfast. Would have liked more fruit. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful.

Food and Service Horrible.

Posted 22-Mar-2014
Long wait for service in restaurant when there was only 2 tables of people. Food itself was not very good at all. No kids menu. The breakfast buffet was even worse. Very low standard and would expect WAY for for $180 per night.

Nice hotel, great staff, close to my course.

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Pros: I liked the complimentary breakfast and the fact that there was a dining room in the hotel so I did not have to go out to eat.
Cons: Not much wrong with this hotel!
Location: It was very close to SAIT where I needed to go to take my course. There was also a shopping centre nearby so that I can kill some time when not study
The hotel staff went out of their way to reconfirm my booking with Expedia as it had not been entered, however lucky for me there was a room available. The front desk clerk was on the phone for approximately 2 hours with Expedia trying to make sure I didn't get billed twice for the same room.
