“Exceeded all Expectrations”
After reading reviews on here we decided to forfeit the quality of the hotel to get the pyramid view. it turns out we forfeited nothing, with the hotel being worthy of all its 5 starts. the room was new and fresh, the staff very attentive and helpful and the pool and surroundings was awesome. IF i could pick fault it was because we only stayed 2 nights, another 1 or maybe 2 would have capped the stay nicely
“Great hotel, and great view”
This was a great hotel located in Giza, right next to the Pyramids of Giza. Its about 30-40 mins walk from the hotel to the pyramids, but only 5-10 mins by car. We travelled mostly by the Hertz service located inside the hotel. Almost double the price of local cabs, but all were AC, which in the 38-42 degrees is well worth it. They have vegetarian choices in the 4-5 restaurants inside the hotel, but we had been through them all by the time we left (1 week). Pool area was fantastic, they've even go a mini-waterfall (though it was under maintenance when we were there). All in all, great hotel, good staff. Take your mosquito repellants with you though, it will help during the nights.
“trust in this hotel when going to egypt”
well after reading the reviews of some of the guests i was expecting a not so great hotel. But i loved this hotel the food was great the staff great and helpful. the stores inside the hotel were better then outside in price and quality. if you make phone calls home buy a cell and minutes instead of using the hotel room phone you will save a bundle.
“Great Hotel, Fantastic Staff.”
I was concerned abit when I had read some reviews of this hotel but was plesantly suprised. The hotel was in excellent and the staff on the ball. The staff of the hotel went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasurable. Even remembering our dining and beverage favorites and making sure that extra coffee or favorite sweets were at the table for our family. They were able to provide us timely updates of the political situation and guide us to the best routes to various sites around Cairo. With their help we were able to see all the major sites around Cairo without incident. We were staying in the new wing and the room was excellent and the view of the Pyramids was wonderful from the window. Our room was wonderful and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were constantly making sure the hotel was clean and neat. Our favorite area was the Citrus Area, where one could have a casual meal while seeing the Pyramids and the pool. If back in Egpyt we will definately stay here again.
“couple with a young child”
The pool is not heated, but as it was hot anyways, the pool was ok, in the afternoons. Otheriwse the hotel was very good.
“Le Meridien”
It was super! Spectacular views of the pyramids. Gave us great advice and helped out on booking all sorts of day trips to see the sights. We really enjoyed this hotel, was fully booked when we arrived but they managed to find us an alternative type of accommodation which actually suited us better, than what we had booked. Best location to stay if doing a short trip to Egypt as you can enjoy the pyramids all the time and not just when you do the tour. We would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Egypt.
“has its pros and cons...”
Hotel is nice, clean, and comfy. Food in the hotel restaurants was decent. However, even though the staff was friendly, they took hours and numerous phone calls to get anything accomplished...we asked for a towel and it took two calls to room service and a two hour wait. We asked for an outlet adapter and waited three days. Also, as gorgeous as the pool LOOKS, the water felt like it was piped in from the arctic!! It was 100 degrees and NO ONE was in the pool because it was THAT cold!!! Everyone put their feet in and then sat back down. And, the bar is still being built and there was very loud construction all day and night. The hotel is also extending and there was construction all day and night on that part also. Very loud and at ALL hours. But the breakfast was good and the location was key.
“Perfect for Pyramids but would not recommend for Cairo city”
I came to this hotel with minimal expectations as generally 5 stars in Cairo don't have amazing reviews. This hotel is VERY close to the pyramids of Giza. It is a 5 star but it does look a bit dated in certain places, although saying that it is very well maintained. Overall, we spent very little time in the hotel as we were out and about as we enjoy sightseeing. If that is the sort of stay you will have, you should book this hotel. Im happy to recommend this for the pyramids as it saves u a lot of commute and the hotel is very comfortable. If, however, you want to cover Cairo city i.e. sites such as Egyptian museum, then book something in downtown as Cairo is a massive city and this place is a VERY long distance from the airport and from downtown too.
“Great for one or two days.”
Yes for a day or two if they want to be next to the Pyramids, after, if you are more days in Cairo I would move to a more central location. The view is fun, but then if you want to go to other areas it takes some time because of the trafic.
“Good location”
The strong points are the location and the service; the rest was OK
