“An Oasis!”
I have stayed in a lot of hotels in recent weeks having just driven across Australia, and this was definitely the best value for money. The service was friendly and efficient, the room was extremely clean, comfortable and spacious, and all of the amenities worked! We had a great view from our verandah, but heh, who spends all their time in the hotel room? The very best part of the Pacific International is it's location. Everything is on it's doorstep - the waterfront, the lagoon, the casino, the marina, boats that take you to the Reef, the shops, restaurants (although the PI has a pretty good Argentinean grill) ... all in all a very pleasant hotel in a five-star location without the five-star price!
“Not the newest hotel in Cairns, but a perfect stay.”
I stayed one night (May 2009). Check-in was smooth. Room was clean. Everything in perfect working order. Bed was comfortable. All rooms have balconies.
“Great location and views.”
We had a corner room with views across the harbour and esplanade containing a very comfortable king size bed. Staff were friendly and helpful but no bar was available inside the hotel but plenty nearby.
“exellent location”
I stayed in a delux room with ocean and mountain views. These rooms are located on the corner of the building and have great views with big sliding glass doors and windows and a hugh balcony. The room was very big and had all the amenities you would need. It is hard to think of anything bad to say. If pressed to say anything bad was it was a little noisey from street traffic in early evening but that was because of the huge windows. A fair trade off in my opinion. For the price I can't think of a better location in downtown cairns.
“Pacific International Hotel - Cairns”
Spent 2 nights here. One night before a trip to Cape Tribulation and then 3 days later when we came back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They stored some of our luggage while we went on the Cape Tribulation tour. The only negative is that there were no beaches within walking distance of the Hotel. Not the Hotels fault. Its still a beautiful area and the price was good. Just dont expect to walk in the surf.
“Great value and location”
Very good value compared with the expensive hotels nearby. Only downside was the presence of some loose hair and used soap in the shower/bath on our arrival. Other than that, no problems.
“Cairns best value hotel”
We stayed here for 1 night and what a great night it was!! excellent location right on the esplanade in walking distance from everything this is the best value hotel in cairns
“Great value for money ... we'll be back!”
Great central location; airy, clean and comfortable room, plus excellent service. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! The South American-style restaurant was fantastic and the cocktails at the Sugarcane bar were pretty good too! Overall, great value for money ... couldn't recommend it highly enough!!
“Great Views”
Obviously once the cream of the hotels at the Cairns Esplanade, it has been overtaken by the newer construction in the area, but nonetheless has great views, comfortable if slightly dated rooms, and all the conveniences you might need. All-in-all, I highly recommend this hotel as it is very comfortable, offers high value for the money, and the staff were very helpful, even surprising us with champagne for our first night of our honeymoon.
“GREAT 2ND VISIT TO TOP CAIRNS HOTEL”
After booking through Expedia at the Pacific International previously I was not interested in considering any other hotel in Cairns. The location is fantastic, so close to everything. The staff are so friendly and happy (a nice change to other hotels I have stayed in). When I rang the desk to ask for assistance, there was someone there within minutes and ready to help. The pool was so inviting and we met some lovely people and had a long chat. The balconies are something you don't get at the hotels they are building these days and it's so nice to be able to sit outside in the fresh air and take in the fabulous views. The water pressure in the shower was perfect (some places you only get a trickle) and the complimentary shampoos and lotions have a lovely smell. The bed was so very comfortable and we had a perfect nights sleep. Thank you to the staff for waking up us on time so we had plenty of time to get to the airport in time for the flight. The hotel should be very proud of their staff, they really look after their guests.
