Clean, large and modern apartment. Full kitchen/laundry facilities. Fantastic pool. Very central to everything. Would recommend to anybody particularly ones with kids. Will stay again

“Relaxed At The Beach.”

With the exception of a intermittent beep that both the hotel maintenance and a local contractor not fixing in 24hrs, the stay at this hotel was very good (Mantra Staff, Please make sure your cleaners make the effort to ensure the appliances are turned off and the microwave is reset, before a new guest stays in the room). Modern decor usable kitchen, compact but functional bathroom and comfortable bedroom. Pool was great and location perfect for strolls on Palm Cove beach. Finally the onsite independent restaurant, Vivo - while the initial cost of the food & drink may appear a little pricey, it was great food and excellent service. If you like chocolate , I must recommend their dessert, Warm chocolate tart :)

Pros: great location (although there's not actually that much to do in Palm Cove itself and the beach was closed the whole ten days we were there because of stingers.. but beautiful nonetheless#, hotel was a few minutes walk from the bus stop to Cairns #great for us as we didn't hire a car#, really nice swimming pool with lots of sun lounges to read etc, quiet, relaxing, the Vivo restuarant was great for coffee/milkshakes #although we never had any meals there#, the staff were VERY helpful when it came to booking tours etc.. lots of information and they were able to get us cheaper deals. Cons: very uncomfortable bed #I read a review on expedia before I left complaining about the bed and I thought 'suck it up'.. but it was a very hard bed and very hard to sleep on.. I woke up with a sore and/or sore back on several mornings...#, there were these really tiny ant-like bugs in our kitchen, our aircon didn't work for several days despite being fixed a couple of times by maintenance.. but the hotel staff were really nice about it and moved us to another 1 bedroom apartment #where the aircon worked great, but there were still ants and uncomfortable beds!#. Overall, it was a great hotel and we had a lovely stay there.

The Mantra at Palm Cove is in an Ideal location close to pleasant beaches and various cafe's and restaurants. The staff at the Mantra were very friendly, helpful and efficient.

“4 star resort doesn't delivery the basics”

Our first holiday since our honeymoon over a year ago. Palm Cove is beautiful. Mantra Amphora resort grounds, gardens and pool are wonderful. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and appointed. We made use of the kitchen to self cater but discovered too late there were only 2 garbage bin liners for the kitchen. I don't mind that the room tarif doesn't include service - I have no issue using bath towels for more than 1 day (helps the environment!) or making my own bed. However, the least Management could do is provide more than 2 garbage bin liners for the kitchen (We were there for the better part of a week). In a tropical climate bugs and ants are naturally more of an issue. This resort doesn't deliver on the most basic of necessities - a comfortable bed. It was rock hard. My husband and I took turns getting a couple of hours sleep on the couch each night. We both had to use Voltaren and Nurofen to help with the tension knots. We returned to Sydney less relaxed and more exhausted than when we left. We would like to visit Palm Cove again as we were both too exhausted from lack of sleep to fully enjoy the area. We will not return to the Mantra Amphora. We also won't choose other Mantra hotels or resorts for future accommodation needs.
