Although somewhat out of town, it is well worth the drive. An excellent B and B, with wonderful co owners who go WAY out if their way for each visitor. They made some dinner reservations for me, despite warning us several times about restaurants booking up. Very very helpfull, and even greeted me with my first name. I will go back there. Definitely the best place that I stayed in during my 14 day Scotland trip!

Beautiful Thistle House
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this beautiful B &B . Sue greeted us very warmly on our arrival and was so helpful setting us up and making us feel so welcome . She even arranged dinner for us at a nearby restaurant , which was amazing as well . The house itself is so very charming . Every room nicer than the last . Breakfast was done perfectly , with a very nice selection .

Warm welcome with offer of tea and log fire in spacious lounge. Bedroom had large bed with lovely en-suite. View over loch to Inverary and castle. Choice of breakfast times and well made cooked breakfast. All areas cleaned and maintained to high standard.

Perfect stay near Inverary
Great views across Loch Fyne. Thistle House was an excellent place to stay whilst touring the area. Clean, comfortable and welcoming, there was a spacious residents lounge and outdoor seating on the terrace. Very good breakfast, freshly prepared with lots of choice. Highly recommended.

A unique historical house decorated and furnished accordingly and to a very high standard throughout. We especially appreciated on arrival being greeted personally and offered tea and cake in the very comfortable large guest lounge with a beautiful view of the loch. Thistle house is a beautiful property, elegantly furnished and decorated in keeping with its character. We had a warm welcome, the room was spotless and comfortable with a lovely new shower room and a stunning lochside view.

Delightful stay
We stayed for 2 nights on our way to Islay. On arrival we were given tea and cake in the beautiful lounge with roaring fire. The rooms were lovely. Breakfast was delicious and we needed an early breakfast on our second morning to catch the ferry. Sue even provided us with pain au chocolate to eat on the way. We will visit again and can wholly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay, and felt that value for money was exceptional. The house and rooms are finished with a great attention to detail and breakfast was also very good. The view of the Loch from our room was breathtaking. Avril was kind enough to wait for our late check in (we were lost driving at night in the rain!) and even helped secured us a late sitting for supper at a hotel down the road. Highly recommended.

We had a really lovely stay at the beautiful Thistle House, Sue and Avril were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and set us up for the day. We were welcomed with tea and cake and even when we popped back mid-day they made us tea! The views over Loch Fyne were stunning and the local sites they recommended were amazing, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Sue and Avril x

Best bed & breakfast we have ever stayed in
The stay was excellent This is the best b&b we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot through the UK Our room had a fantastic view across the lock to Inveraray it was very comfortable and spotless .The breakfast was superb .We only stayed the one night but we shall certainly be going back for a longer stay.We thoroughly recommend Thistle House

For the past five years, my wife and I have traveled and more than 50 countries from New Zealand to Russia. This has been one of our most enjoyable places to stay. Everything about our room was perfect and our hosts were amazing. From the moment we arrive to the moment we left they did everything possible to make us feel at home, from serving tea outside while overlooking the Loch two asking us exactly how we would cook our breakfast if we were back home in America. It was a delightful experience. We stayed there two days and would have loved to have stayed there a week. A perfect romantic vacation house/bed-and-breakfast for couples. The attention to details shown by the owners whs the best I’ve seen anywhere!

Beautiful inside and out. Very friendly and helpful. Wonderfully clean, lovely decor, comfortable rooms with a view over the loch, beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms with a king size bed. Great breakfast and a lovely touch was being offered a hot drink and homemade cake and shortbread on arrival. We would definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely Fabulous Stay
Amazing stay. Friendly and helpful hosts who gave us coffee, cake and shortbread on arrival. Room was spotless with lovely wee chairs at window overlooking Loch Fyne. Comfy bed and sparkling clean shower room. Faultless!

Home from home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was wonderful. The decor was beautiful. The unimpeded view over to Inveraray was outstanding. The hosts could not do enough to ensure our comfort. They provided coffee and cake on our arrival as we sat in the garden. The weather was fantastic too.

Superb stay on Loch Fyne
We loved our short stay, Avril and Sue were brilliant hosts. Everything spotlessly clean, excellent covid protocols and breakfast was first class. The view from our room over the Loch was stunning and we spotted two otters while sitting one evening enjoying the view from our window! We are looking forward to returning some time soon.
