“Much better hotel than shown on the web”

Most staff speak some english. If you make a little effort to speak spanish the staff will go out of their way to be most helpfull. Remember this is Spain not the US. Hotel is a five star in my opinion.

“Great value”

An older place that is in very good condition. Fabulous grounds and good internet access. Free parking at the door and very good access to the rest of the town. The breakfast that was included was good and we had a nice evening meal there. The room was large with a good bathroom and quiet for sleeping. We went to Gibraltar from there and it was an easy and enjoyable drive.

“Grand Old Hotel”

This is a grand old historic hotel in a park-like setting. Some of the furnishings are a bit worn but the bathroom and linen are bright and clean. The room I had was big enough to accommodate a dressing table with a mirror and a hassock. The breakfast buffet is terrific and includes bacon and eggs.

“The hotel needs major renovations to bring it up to the 4 star level”

Was disappointed in the room furniture. Needs an upgrade. Plus we had an intruder in the room and the hotel staff and the police could care less about it. Nothing was stolen because we were in the room and fought him off but the hotel did not offer any simpathy or just a simple we are sorry for this.

“It depends on what you are looking for...”

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds. The rooms themselves are not as stunning as the outside, but are reasonable. We loved the tucked away feel, and thankful for parking right at our door that was not an additional charge.
