“The Beauty Within.”
There is no sign indicating this is a hotel, which threw us at first. When we bucked up and used the intercom, the door was answered and we entered a gorgeous marble lobby tastefully appointed with original artwork, spiral staircases and interior courtyards with fountains, French doors to hallways, stained glass and plenty of sophisticated charm with a extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff person. Check in was quick, arrangements were flawlessly made for an early breakfast tray, early taxi. Directions to nearby places and quick instructions on how to use the subway was a very value added service. In the evening, we were invited to a hotel sponsered tasting of Argentinian wines, which we had to unfortunately decline. The following morning, a breakfast tray with excellent coffee and small pastry bites (B.A. is not a big breakfast country) arrived on time, as promised. Buenos Aires ended up being a unanticipated side trip initially that was the highlight of the vacation experience.

“Best Stay in BA”
Services are excellent, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Whatever you may need, they go out of their way to help you! Beautiful people in an amazing place: makes you feel like home! Highly recommend staying there!
“Easily one of the best hotels we ever stayed in.”
First of all, only stay here if you like excellent things- our stay couldn't have been better. This is a gorgeous boutique hotel in an old building in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of Palermo. The building retains its old charm, but sports very well-done modern design elements and everything from the lighting to the art was clearly carefully chosen. The 24-hour staff was ridiculously friendly and helpful, and laid back and welcoming like family. They helped us book boat tickets, lent us umbrellas, recommended amazing restaurants and went way, way above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful and make us feel comfortable. I don't usually write reviews or gush, but Raco deserves it. You need to stay here and you will not be disappointed.

“Great Visit”
Had a great time at Raco de Buenos Aires. It was situated in a great neighborhood around many reasonable and authentic restaurants. The hotel is located close to the subte (subway) with a line going straight downtown, the line ends at the "pink house." The hotel staff speak english fluently (if traveling from an english speaking country), and they have many great ideas and tips when traveling to Buenos Aires. The hotel is very preserved from the 1900's and is so unique! Overall, money well spent and a fun stay in BA.
“Fabulous place to stay in BA”
We were fortunate to book Hotel Boutique de Raco for our honeymoon. It was the highlight of our trip and a dream come true. We stayed in an amazing room upstairs with vaulted ceilings, modern fixtures, and a patio. They arranged a taxi for us to be picked up at the airport - the cab driver held a sign up with our last name and greeted us with a smile. We felt like royalty. The hotel staff were spot on with their suggestions for: sightseeing, restaurants, and night life. We loved our trip, and would go back to Buenos Aires just for the opportunity to stay at Hotel Boutique de Raco one more time.
“Great personal service at a lovely inn”
We stayed in the Recoleta neighborhood for pure convenience during the first 3 nights of our 3 week trip to Argentina, but upon returning to Buenos Aires for the final 6 nights, wanted romantic lodging in a neighborhood that reflected more of everyday Buenos Aires life. Hotel Raco in the Almagro neighborhood was an excellent solution. Originally a home, as an inn it provides its guests with the sense of staying in a household, both because of its lovely lay-out and stylish, large, high-ceilinged rooms and because of the extremely friendly, intelligent and helpful service provided by the front desk staff. The nearby Castros-Barros subte (subway) stop provided easy access to many other locations around the city or we could use a taxi when desired, but we enjoyed exploring the restaurants and shops in Almagro.
“Elegant Charm in Buenos Aires”
We had a great stay at the Hotel Boutique Raco. After some initial trouble with the airport taxi finding the hotel (the hotel is not well known and the name of the street is hard to pronounce) we arrived late at night to a dark residential street with no hotel sign or other markings. We knocked on the large wooden door of a nondescript building, unsure if this was the right address. The door opened and we were greeted by Julian, the owner. We walked into charming surroundings and knew immediately we had selected the right place for our four night stay in Buenos Aires. The high ceilings and local artwork added to the casual, but elegant ambiance. Julian explained that the building was over 100 years old and that he had restored over the past several years. The hotel was small with12-14 rooms, most of which open on to a lovely atrium which is open to the Buenos Aires sky. The room was just the right size with two twin beds and high ceilings. The bathroom was contemporary style with a bowl sink, a half open shower and of course, a bidet. The beds were comfortable, and the noise level was very low, as we were in an interior room. There is no hotel computer, but they do have free WI-FI. The staff is what made the stay particularly memorable. Natalia was cordial and accommodating and spoke fluent English. She arranged taxi service and offered suggestions on local cafes, restaurants and attractions. It was an excellent value and I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Great hotel but location inconvenient for very short stopover...”
Critical issue for me was this hotel is a long way out from main sightseeing/areas of interest. I arrived 8 pm Saturday night for a stay of 2 nights, 1 day in Buenos Aires. With such a short stay the distance really was a negative factor, I did feel somewhat isolated. I was at the end of a long trip and money was tight so taking taxis wherever I wanted was not something i could afford a lot of - hotel location meant i saw less of Buenos Aires than I would've liked... Also the airport bus was not able to drop me there in one of their mini bus transfers. I did take the bus to their central terminal where an employee called a taxi for me which cost another $25. This was still a cheaper option than catching a taxi direct... If I was staying at the hotel for longer the distance would not have been a problem as I always prefer to stay in a residential area and discover the local scene/public transport etc., but with my ultra quick stopover it was a bit inconvenient... I would highly recommend this hotel for longer stays though!!!! Staff spoke excellent English and were very polite and helpful. The rooms are very stylish and comfortable, but noise can be a bit of an issue as the lovely big french doors opening onto the walkway/courtyard don't offer much soundproofing - really depends on number and type of other guests at time you visit and how "sound sensitive" you are. Nothing a pair of earplugs can't fix... Again, would highly recommend for longer stays rather than stopovers!!!
