“Soak & Steam!”
Upon check in we noticed I had only booked for one night instead of two online. The room was already booked for the next night so the front desk "GRACIOUSLY" upgraded us to a beautiful cabin! Pristine waters and nature abound here. Take in the new steam room and private guest pools across the river before eating a great bowl of french onion soup in the lodge restaurant.
“Great food!”
This was the second time we stayed at the hotel, really enjoyed the pool, food and hiking in surrounding area.
“Good for the money”
Hotel was old but had gone through some renovations. Our room was spacious and everything was new. The "lodge" was very close to the hot springs pool and creek. Very central to the Arkansas River and St. Elmo ghost town.
“Overwhelmed”
My partner and I found this accommodation very acceptable for the tariff charged. the staff were most helpful and the amenities were very good. Accept where you are and the tariff charged and you will be glad you made the effort to go and enjoy the amenities this place has to offer. Complain and you are a whinger.
“Will be a quality destination in a few years - currently a work in progress...”
There aren't many places to stay in this area and this is probably one of the nicest. In general I would say it is overpriced for what you get. It is an old resort currently being updated and it shows. What has been updated is nice. The rest is really run down. The pool house is in major need of repair. The restaurant was ridiculous. Overpriced, not excellently prepared food. The wait staff acted like they worked at Denny's...not what is trying to be an overpriced, upscale restaurant. Very unprofessional. No lower priced food options on site. Limited hours on the pools was a problem if you like to swim early or late. The steam room was fantastic. The pools were OK, several areas closed including the natural pools in the river (this is mother nature's fault, not the resort's, but be aware it happens often). The rooms (we were in the motel style rooms up on a cliff) were pretty mediocre for the price. Clean and adequate, but nothing exciting. Long walk to the resaurant/pool area from our room. If you want more than a Super 8 I think this is one of the only options in the area....just be prepared to pay for a little more than you get.
“Very disappointed”
We have been going up to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs for years and always had a great time, but I think this will be the last time we will go... The last few years the resort has done some amazing renovations which were desperately needed. But with the renovations the staff at the hot springs have become extremly rude! So sad, because this used to be such a down-to-earth place. Not anymore. If you have children don't bring them. They are not welcome. By far, this is not a fancy "resort". There are plenty of other hot springs in Colorado.
“Low rent district”
Folks this place is so over blown it is a joke. The nearest food was ten miles away and the restaurant was closed when we were there. Also the resort (ha ha) is sorta in the foot hills and everything is either way downhill or way up hill. Walk to the pool it reminds me of a city pool atmospere, and on top of that the bus loads of rafters pull in and act like it is recess for a hour and then they leave. Could be a sorta neat place, but folks they missed it entirely matter of fact they don't even it the target .
“Bad”
Because this "Resort" was not acceptable I had to go to another motel and pay a much higher rate.
