Very helpful and warm people
I traveled solo for 3 nights and to be honest it was a lovely stay given it was super budget hotel. The staff is always so welcoming and warm. They treat guests so well and always smiling. I was given a choice of a bigger room without any extra costs and it was amazing with a balcony. Bed was slightly not so cosy as we have in the UK but nothing uncomfortable. For solo traveler or budget couple its perfect. Breakfast buffet is basic but does the job. I would definitely stay again if travelling to Budapest again. Recommended. :) Cheers

Nice Breakfast and nice staff in breakfast room. Apart from that unfortunately not much good to say,firstly hotel advertises parking,this is limited basis and with a height limit,our shower was leaking water into the hallway,but biggest problems has been the bites,we (3) all came away with bite marks to our arms legs and torso.

Nice hotel
Stayed here for a couple of nights on a solo trip, did the job fine and great budget price. On the Buda side of the river so ideal for fisherman’s bastion, and still completely walkable to Margaret island and Pest. The breakfast could maybe have been a bit improved but other than that no complaints

Unfortunately the good sleep wasn't possible regarding different noises and for a few guests. I have found different hairs on my pillow which was the first "surprise' during my stay. So, I left the place after 4hours sleep. Absolutely bad experience for me.

Good little hotel, great location, slightly dated
The property is in a prime location, on the West (Buda) side of Budapest in a nice, safe area, the room was nice and warm and check-in was available past 10 pm. The only downside is the bed is incredibly noisy as you sit on it, so maybe an upgrade here would be good. Also, in my room the water comes out hot when you turn the tap to the right, not the left, so despite the red/blue marking on the shower, warm water comes out the right, and you have to give it a minute for the water to turn warm. I embarassed myself by calling reception to comment about this, so maybe putting a little sign in the hotel rooms to let guests know the right side is warm, and to give it a minute, would be helpful. For the price I was satisified with this property, and would consider returning if in Budapest again.

Great place for a solo traveler
Comfy little hotel withing walking distance of some of the attactions of the old town. The family-run atmosphere was very friendly. Food was good too.

The hotel was clean, well located to get anywhere in the city and had a wonderfully responsive staff. There is a hill to climb each day when touring, but it provides an opportunity to further one’s physical fitness.

Not suitable if travelling w small kids
The staff were excellent and the location is great, if you are looking somewhere quiet within easy reach of most tourist sites. I had 2 issues with the hotel however: 1. Lifts: the lift on my floor opened to a small landing and I needed to climb a few steps in order to get to the rooms. This won't be an issue for most travellers, but not ideal, when you're pushing a child in a buggy, or if you're wheelchair bound/elderly. 2. I had access to 2 balconies from the room, which I usually would be thrilled about, however there was no way to lock the doors leading to them. This is a major flaw for anyone travelling with small kids. As I only stayed 2 nights and my child was already asleep when I discovered this, I decided to stay in the room and used some of the furniture to block the doors. Other than these issues I was happy with my stay overall.

There was a problem with the internet and it was fixed very fast and the manager was very kind and polite today regarding this. but another staff member blamed me on using it too much, when the fault had nothing to do with me. This spoiled my stay a little but apart from this one incident everything else was excellent at 👍 the hotel.

The location is a challenge to get to with luggage since it is on a hill. The breakfast was plentiful. The beds were not as comfortable as other places- very hard. We had a nice large room that fit myself and 3 kids very easily. Staff helped secure the taxi for our trip to the airport.

A nice hotel in a quiet area, very close to the Chilean Emvbassy. 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro, which was quite easy to find. Lovely warm room, which is essential in the winter. Nice breakfast, pleasant staff. Possible to eat there in the evening, which was great as it was very cold outside and few local restaurants.

Good 3* bit of a climb up hill from river but only few minutes from buses and trams. Our room quite small not really room to work from two cases but everything working. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bit of a scramble for breakfast on Sunday morning with hotel full but staff worked hard to restock . No lack of food or choices. Would recommend.

Down to earth, good value, family run hotel
Situated in delightful position with fabulous view of the castle on the hill. I was delighted to discover it's secluded little garden. It's not boutique, fashionable or glamourous but it works. Friendly staff.

Close to City Centre
Hotel very pleasant , close to St Margaret Island and the City Centre but in a quiet area ( as long as you are ok to walk but fairly steep hills). The room had a shower , comfortable bed and even a mini bar. The staff were very nice and helpful. Given these facts I think the hotel was very good value for money and would stay there again. Although the breakfast was nice there was not much choice. You could also purchase Hop on Hop off Bus Ticket which I would particularly if you do not know the lay out of Budapest. You can use the ticket to be a tourist such as the Orange line but also to get round the city. A stop for the Yellow line is only five minutes walk away from the hotel and the staff are very helpful with directions. I would re. commend taking the night bus tour and the boat tour and if you time it right you can change route you could usually get back to the Yellow line stop five minutes walk from the hotel . When in Budapest you must visit St Margaret's Island and the Danube at night and as I have said the hotel is very near both . The same company that does the Hop On Hop Off bus also sell tickets for longer river cruise which I think you can purchase at the hotel - not sure about that - but I would recommend a trip to Saint Andre - yes St Andrews - the boat trip takes you past some amazing sights and the town is wonderful. As might guess I have been in Budapest a lot - honeymoon included - and next time I go I try to book the Papillion again I can not say better.

Excellent budget hotel in lovely location
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel in its attractive location. The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and the breakfast excellent. I liked the potted plants on the stairways. I even became fond of the orange curtains in my room that did not match ie one side was about two feet shorter than the other. I expect there must be another pair somewhere exactly the same. I would happily stay there again.

Decent Hotel on Buda
This hotel is located on the Buda side of the city and within 10 min walk to Margaret Bridge and about 20 min walk to the nearest Metro station. It is also about 20 min walk to Mammut, a neighbouring shopping centre. Budapest has good night bus and trams so getting around it is not a problem. Most of the Hop on Hop off tour service has a stop at Margaret Bridge so that might be a useful consideration for some. The hotel is pretty decent and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, the rooms' soundproofing is really bad, I could hear my neighbours very clearly even if I am a deep sleeper. The water piping also made a funny noise at times so it can be really disruptive. My room is just over the kitchen and the noise from the breakfast preparation woke me up. The safe is very small but good enough for cash or document, definitely not for laptops or large tablets. It is not bolted to a wall and is not hard to remove the safe from the room.

Walkable to Margit Bridge
Close to Margit Bridge and public transportation. Solid 3/1-2 star hotel. The hotel views range dramatically. I had a view of the lobby- peers had balconies ovelooking the pool and garden; others had full panoramic view of the city. You may want to request room. Great breakfast. Further away from sites, but gave me the opportunity to use public transport. Quiet. No A/C. But you could have it for an extra fee. Mini fridge was nice. Wifi. Walkable to Margaret Island. Hop a water taxi and you can see the Danube!
