Stay was OK. Breakfasts well presented, tasty and varied. Room was well maintained and comfortable. Door to room was difficult to open as handle side of door scraped against the door frame. The card activated lock was troublesome. Didn't work on two occasions.when returned to room on last night card wouldn't function but door was ajar. Apparently, left open after maid service. Difficulty closing/opening due to door being out of adjustment was probable contributing factor but failure to verify room was secure is unacceptable. Lock then became totally nonfunctioning next morning as we attempted to have breakfast and depart room. Manager was duly concerned and made accommodations.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. When I was checking in, another couple was trying to find a room (no rooms available at the Double Tree). The front desk person was making many calls to neighboring hotels to help them find a room - over and above his responsibilities and impressive!
Pleasant rooms and staff. Easy access to freeways in multiple directions. Mini-kitchen allows flexibility for breakfast, snacks, special diets. Individual temperature control. Generally quiet and polite guests.
Slow to make maintenance repairs -- stayed a week with a running toilet and reported it the first day with no repair before I left. Annoying but not a problem really. Don't know if this is typical.
Check in was great no hassle, needed a room change no problem, room was clean, hardwood floors a nice touch, no noise from guest, overall experience was good, I would definitely come back here, had a wonderful weekend......

Hard to communicate with personnel in English. Still trying to get our money back off of our credit card.
We held the rooms with one credit card (they immediately charged both rooms in separate bills to this
card) thinking we wouldn't be charged till the end of our stay. When we left we paid with a separate credit card (one bill) assuming(dumb) they could figure it out. Now trying to sort this mess out seems like our credit card company is the only party we can work with no one else cares!!
To the north of Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center offers more than 500 acres of public parks. The suburb’s 36,000-square-foot Earle Brown Heritage Center, named for the founder of the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, features both meeting space and historic farm buildings. Nearby, Brookdale Shopping Center offers more than 75 stores. During winter months, try one of the area’s eight skating rinks.
